Noah finally appears about two and a half hours after we left his house and hit the road. None of said anything about the redness of his eyes when he walked out our bedroom. It was hard, seeing as I wanted to run-or quick walk because if I had ran, Noah would’ve killed me-over there and kiss the pain away, but I was still annoyed with him. However, Noah Patterson knows how to deal with pain. Noah Patterson’s always had to deal with pain. And even though I’m sure this is the worst yet, I know he’s going to get through it.

We’re going to get through it.

“Snap!”

Gabby looks at Brett, Brett looks at Gabby, Logan looks at the both of them. It’s been the routine for a while now. When Gabby walked out the bedroom she now shares with Logan and Brett, and invited only one of them to play cards with her, the other was furious. Logan was furious. And not one bone in my body was sympathetic to him in the slightest. If he wanted to be an angry grouch, then he could be. It wasn’t our tour he was ruining, just his, because even with these too-angry-for-their-own-good boys here, I know the girls and I are going to make this the best time of our lives.

“That’s so not fair,” Gabby whines, throwing her cards down onto the small table in a really over dramatic way. I watch over them from the sofa to make sure they’re not cheating in anyway, but Brett has won every game, hands down and fairly, causing Gabby to be, well, let’s just say a little less than happy. “I swear you’re like a snap ninja or something.”

Brett stands up, makes a complete fool of himself doing some completely rubbish ‘ninja’ moves, and I hear Lizzie laugh next to me. I don’t know whether that’s from the game and Brett though, or the fact that Gabby’s face has turned up even more at the sight of him prancing around like an idiot. I move my gaze from the girls, and boy, to look at Logan again, who’s moved across the room, obviously sulking. Shaking my head at him, from the corner of my eye I see Noah move towards the kitchen area, where Joe’s in an apron cooking a meal for all of us. It’s most probably going to be our last proper one together because of how tired we’re going to be with the band, and trying to keep up our grades for school online.

I just have a feeling the latter is not going to be happening.

The two boys in the kitchen look like they’re whispering to each other, smirks on their faces, so I leave them to it. It’s not like I really care what they’re talking about. And if it’s about me, I’m pretty sure I could get it out of Noah later. The power of persuasion and all that a girlfriend holds over their boyfriend is magical; truly magical, and very helpful in situations just like these. Turning my gaze, I’m just in time to see Brett throw down his cards and walk out the room, right after Gabby shouts that she’s actually won one game. I laugh with her, as Lizzie runs out the room and to Brett to probably taunt the sore loser even more.

“Have you had your nap yet?” I pretend to play with a bit of cotton on the bottom of the dress I’m wearing. Anything not to look at Noah and his sore eyes, because he’ll be the death of me, and the girls will kill me if I forgive him about the Brett thing this easily. And I agree, the boys don’t deserve us for a while until they start treating Brett like one of us. “Lili, you can’t stay up for the whole day, babe. It’s not healthy for you, and it’s just going to wear you out.”

My only reply is, “Don’t ‘babe’ me.”

“Lili,” I watch him through the curtain of hair falling over my face, and he turns to look at Joe at the same time as he turns to look at Noah. They show some sort of message between the two, and then Noah finally turns back to face me. “We need your help.”

“Well you’ve never needed it before.”

Noah groans, and then bends down so if I looked up, our heads would be level. And most probably collide in the process. He rests his hands on my knees, keeping balance that way, but makes sure not to apply much pressure. And though I hate to admit it, that’s one of the reasons I can’t help but love the boy in front of me.
