Later the next morning, Ruvel was taken by Reiner and Monika to meet Feyril and Raug. When they saw the elder angel and demon, they flew up to them and informed the two about what happened.

“Ah so it worked.” Feyril said as he gave a smile. “That’s wonderful”

“What worked?” Ruvel said, a bit confused. Reiner smiled a little. “You see, we created a plan so that you could remember again. We didn't plan it all the way but you remember now and that’s fine with us.” he gave a chuckle.

Monika nodded a little. “Yeah. We had the puppets dress up in their old outfits and we got them to see you.” she said. “I’m glad everything worked out”

“Yeah. To be frank, I didn't think this was going to work.” Raug said. “Knowing you and all Ruvel.”

Reiner hugged Ruvel close as they all began to talk about the puppets and their plans for their future. When evening fell, Reiner left to collect his souls and Monika and Ruvel went to go se the puppets.

The two reapers gasped when they came to the sunflower field. There was blood that stained some of the sunflowers and the shed’s walls and windows. Ruvel stared at the site in horror as he rushed towards the shed.

No no no no no…!’ he thought to himself as he kicked the door opened.

There in the back of the shed was Latis. He seemed to be hiding from the evening sunlight. He glanced over at Ruvel with horror. “It’s okay.. Latis it’s me…” Ruvel said softly to the puppet.

Latis calmed down when he realized that Ruvel was there. He held something or someone close to him. Ruvel stepped closer to get a better look and what he saw hurt him even more. The young puppet Latis was holding Diaval close to his chest. Diaval, however had blood everywhere on his body. His eyes were bland and lifeless. The smaller puppet began to cry.

Ruvel ran to Latis and picked him up in his arms to hold him close. He hushed Latis softly as the puppet cried onto his shoulder. After a moment, Ruvel spoke up. “What happened Latis..?”

Latis choked on his words as he began to speak. “A-A reaper came to us and.. S-She attacked Diaval and I… Diaval told me to hide b-but..!” Latis covered his mouth to cough. “She killed him… She killed him Ruvel..! And she said that she’ll come go kill me..! I-I’m… Scared.. before his death… h-he said that he’ll be alright but… b-but…”

“Oh Latis..” Ruvel gave the puppet a gentle kiss on the forehead. “Don’t weep. Don’t be afraid. I’m here.. It’s alright.” he said. He then gave a little smile. “Hey.. Guess what?”

“W-What..?” Latis was rather confused on why Ruvel would smile at time like this.

Ruvel held the puppet close. “You’re still here.. You’re still alive. There is nothing to be afraid of.” he said softly as he kissed Latis’s forehead again. “I’m here.. Your father’s here.. It’s okay..”

Latis’s eyes widened. “D-Do you mean..?”

“Mhm.. I remember…” Ruvel said. “I wish you were both here to hear that...But I remember now.”

Latis’s face lit up like a city at night. He hugged Ruvel tightly and began to cry again. Monika watched from the doorway and gave a little empathic smile. Her eyes widened and she tried around, before walking back outside and leaving Ruvel and his puppet alone in the shed.

Ruvel looked at Latis and gave a little smile. “I love you both....”

Latis smiled a little back. “We… love you too.. master..”

They remained in that shed for a while. Ruvel watched the puppet trying to write and he chuckled every time Latis screamed when he made a spelling error. Occasionally, Ruvel would stroke Diaval’s hair. He had to admit, he already missed that adorable puppet.

Their peace was ruined by a familiar girl’s scream.

A/N: Short but sweet. Also now I can say that we're almost fone with this book.
