Chapter 5: Memory And The Controller

Britt's POV

We rushed into the tunnel that the guys claimed they made as kids and was truly amazed. It had a crystal blue glow to it with tiny droplets coming from the ceiling of the tunnel

"This is amazing" Lizzie still kept looking around at everything in amazement

"I can agree, how did you even make this?" I asked them

"Took a long time with a bunch, and I mean a BUNCH, of shovels, water, moss, and rocks" Mitch explained

Ryan nodded in agreement. "Plus, it took about three years to do it"

"Well, I'm truly impressed" Lizzie smiled

Mitch's POV

I smiled back at Lizzie as she still kept looking around. Never thought we would come back to this place.. The place where mine and Ryan's friendship started

~flashback~

(A/N They were 10 years old when this happened)

I quietly sat on a rock near the outside of a tunnel. I was honestly bored with my life and had nothing left to live for. I sighed, got up, and decided to start heading back to town. That's when I heard yelling behind me and saw a boy with dark brown hair and sunglasses rushing to me and ran into me

"You alright?" I asked

"I... I'm fine" The boy stated

"What were you running from?" I questioned

The boy cowled behind me and pointed to a guy about 12 years old rushing up to me, with a furious look in his eyes. This guy had spiked red hair with a black hoodie on, blue jeans, and black sneakers on

"And who might you be pipsqueak?" The other boy questioned

"Mitch" I told the 12 year old boy

"Give me the boy behind you" The 12 year old ordered

I looked to the boy behind me as he quickly shook his head no

"No" I told the red head and crossed my arms

"You're going to pay!" The red head started to punch me, but I tripped him and he faceplanted to the ground

"Thank you so much!" The boy behind me thanked me

"No problem, so who is that guy?" I questioned him

"That's Zach, he bullies me a bunch" The boy explained

"I see, and what's your name?" I asked the boy

"Ryan, Ryan McNutly to be exact" He told me with a smile

"I'm Mitch Hughes" I chuckled

Lizzie's POV

I looked over to Mitch and saw him standing completely still with clouded eyes. I waved my hand in his face, but no response

"What's wrong with him?" I asked Ryan. He came over and looked at Mitch

"He's deep in thought, don't disturb him or else he'll attack" Ryan explained

"Oh" Was all I could mutter and as Ryan and Britt started walking deeper into the tunnel, I told them I would stay behind with Mitch until he 'woke up'

It took about five minutes, but then he snapped out of his thoughts and looked over to me

"Where did Britt and Ryan go?" He asked

"Already ahead" I told him

"Oh no..." He quietly whispered

"What?" I questioned

"We need to go up there, now" He explained. I nodded and then we started going to find them

Ty's POV

"How long does it take just for someone to go do a simple task such as meeting up with someone?" I asked Adam

"Apparently a long time" He concluded

"We can't just sit around anymore waiting for Mitch and Ryan to bring back dinner along the way" I groaned

"You're right. Hey, where is that one controller that Quentin has that activates that chip he installed into Mitch a few weeks ago?" Adam asked

"In his office among his other controllers, why?" I questioned and flipped my hair

"We can activate it by ourselves and then just control Mitch. Plain and simple." Adam smirked

"That's genius!" I exclaimed

Adam cackled and then we set up the plan to do it

~5 minutes later~

"You ready?" I asked him

He nodded and then I went downstairs to Quentin's cellar while Adam was keeping watch. I looked at the sign that was next to the iron doors that said

Husky AKA Quentin

I knocked on his door and he quickly opened it

"What is it Ty?" Quentin crossed his arms

"Can I see that controller that activates that chip you installed into Mitch a couple weeks back?" I asked

"If you're trying to control Mitch, since he is the strongest of all of us, if that chip goes out of control, his seal will break and his calm state will be gone forever. It's really risky. Are you sure?" He questioned me

"I'm positive" I confirmed

"Follow me then" Quentin told me and motioned me inside

We went through several experiments and gizmos until we came across a glass case that had his controller in there

"It's yours" Quentin pointed to it. I carefully removed the glass and grabbed the controller

"Thanks Husky" I smiled and chuckled

He nodded and I rushed upstairs

"Did you get it?" Adam asked

"Yep" I pointed to the controller

"Good, now let's do this" He smirked. I pressed the button on the side of it and turned it on

Lizzie's POV

Me and Mitch were still running to catch up to Britt and Ryan. When we finally got there, I sighed with happiness as we found them

"Glad we finally found you guys!" I exclaimed

"Yea, was starting to worry!" Mitch laughed

"Good thing you guys found us, we were just about to leave you guys here!" Ryan laughed

"Oh yea!" Britt joined in the laughter

That's when it all happened

I looked over to Mitch as I saw him clutch his head in pain and he screamed

"What's wrong?" I asked him

"Oh no..." Ryan gasped

Mitch kept on screaming in pain, but then he fainted on the ground

"It's happening" Ryan finished

"What is?!" Britt got worried

We crowded around him and I started to panic. That's when his eyes opened, but there was one thing

They were pure blood red
