Chapter 9: Speak Now

Lizzie's POV

"I...Im scared" I choked out

"Shh, it's ok Lizzie. You're safe" Adam soothed me

"You sure? What about the refugees?" I asked quietly

"Claire and Kaitlin will be caught soon, just don't worry, please" He begged

"For your sake" I told him and wrapped my arms around his neck

Britt's POV

Ryan was just different, I could tell. Jerome did something to him, and I plan to find it out

"I'll be right back" I told Ryan, but then he grabbed my arm

"Where are you going?" He asked sternly

"Just to find Jerome" I explained and struggled to pull my arm free

"You're not going without me" He told me

I sighed, but then slapped his arm away with my free hand. He yanked away and hissed at me

"I'm sorry" I whispered to him and ran off to find Jerome

Jerome's POV

~flashback~

It was about 7:00 PM. The church bells rang as I stood quietly in my tux, waiting for Britt quietly. It was our wedding day and I was truly excited to spend the rest of my life with her. Then, she came

She walked down the aisle with her white, flowing dress on and walked to my side. We faced each other and were as nervous as can be

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered today to see Britt Summers and Jerome Aceti get married" The preacher started

"You nervous?" I whispered to Britt quietly and she nodded

"If anyone objects to this, speak now or forever hold your peace" He explained. No one objected, but smiled

"Very well then. Do you, Jerome Aceti, take Britt to be your wife, to love and to cherish for in sickness and in health?" The preacher turned to me

"I do" I told him

"And do you, Britt Summers, take Jerome to be your husband, to love and to cherish for in sickness and in health?" He turned to Britt

"I do" She told him

"Excellent. I now pronounce you two husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!" He exclaimed

Me and Britt then kissed, sharing our first moment as husband and wife

-Time skip to three days after the wedding-

"Just go away Jerome!" Britt exclaimed

"We can work this out" I told her calmly and reached my hand out to her. She found out I was a vampire and she was afraid of me

"Yea. Sure. No big fucking deal. I just live with a bloodsucking creature is all." She stammered a little

"Come here" I told her. She walked over and I gave her a hug. That's when I bit her

"Ow! Jerome!" She exclaimed

"What?" I asked, confused

"You know... what y....you did..." She explained before she fainted onto our bed. I had to do it for her sake

~end flashback~

Britt stormed into my room with fury in her eyes

"What did you do to Ryan?" She asked

"I did nothing" I claimed

"Liar" She whispered
