Recruiting 001

They pick her up.

By the neck.

Ugh. I didn't mean it literally. I also said pick on her! Not pick her up! Nate is such an idiot. But what can you do, he is a jock after all.

If you were wondering how the pies went, the pastries were excellent. We finished early (like always) and made five times more than what we were supposed to make. So that makes twenty pies pastries.

Anyway, the plan is to get Nate, the school's top jock and "bad boy," to pick on Kathleen. Obviously, Nathaniel is being a dumb butt and did not listen to directions, seeing what is happening right now. We asked another one of our friends, Eleanor, to help us. Her role is to change herself into "me" and keep Matthew, Dexter, and Carter busy. Then, I swoop in and save Kathleen, gaining her trust. When the two goons with Nate runoff, seeing my true powers and try to tell everyone, they would look crazy because "I" was with the other three jocks. Muahahaha.

Right now I am hiding behind a cluster of lockers in the southeast wing of the school, ready for this plan to jump into action.

Why specifically the southeast wing? Well because it's the hallway that is rarely used (for school activities anyway). Also, this side of the school is still kind of new, and they weren't able to install security cameras yet. So students hook up, nerds try to hide but eventually the bullies catch them, beating the living daylights out of them.

Just like how it's about to happen to Kathleen if I don't step in.

"El? Are you ready?" I whisper into my left wrist.

"Yup!" I hear in reply. "I'm walking past their table now, and they've-" Eleanor is cut off as I hear a groan come through.

The plan for recruiting 001 is a go.

I turn my attention back to the girl cowering in the corner.

Nate, you can leave now. I tell him.

On it. He replies.

"Jon, Kyle, you two finish up here." He commands his two minions. "I have someone else to bang, and I don't mean with my fist," Nate smirks, earning wolf whistles from them.

I roll my eyes. Hormonal boys.

He jogs in the direction of where I'm hiding and holds his fist out for a fist bump. I shake my head not amused. The golden-haired boy lowers his clenched hand in shame and gives me a nod.

I nod back, taking it as my cue to jump in.

Approaching the three, I hear the two bullies taunting the girl. "Stupid nerd thinks her family loved her? You're going to pay for not finishing our homework. You're worthless." Her head is hung low with a solemn face. It's evident that she's lost all hope and is just waiting for his knuckles to pound into her gut as Kyle's fist is about to strike.

But it doesn't.

I catch his flying fist before it can do any damage. I look straight into his wide dark eyes. "Who are you calling worthless? Why don't you take a look at yourselves first? Hurting and threatening others because your lazy butts can't do anything for themselves!" I rage. "Are you always this dumb, or are you making a special effort today?" I spat, throwing his clammy hand back.

I turn around to see shock form on Kathleen's face. "I know this is a stupid question but are you okay?" I ask.

Still, with disbelief imprinting her features, I turn back around to face the boys, only to be punched square in the face. Tossing my hair back with the shake of my head, I give them a tight-lipped smile. "Looks like I overestimated the number of brain cells you have because you don't know who you're messing with."
