[Mr. Rogers PoV (school principal)]
I sat there at my desk, my palms digging into my forehead. The office was hot, sweat was beading on my forehead. I cant open any windows, the press is crawling around like rodents trying to get information on Brynn. Those reporters are nuts, a day after the suicide they had their faces presses to my window like a bunch of wild animals.
I wipe my forehead with my handkerchief and rolled up my sleeves. That damn janitor isn't paid to stand around twiddling his thumbs, he needs to get to fixing the AC in here.
The students, faculty, and myself are all on our high horses currently. The faculty is educating everyone on suicide prevention, the students are whispering and constantly checking over their shoulders, for the new rule I just announced a few days previous that bullying of any form will result in suspension.
Yes, the poor family of the girl. Believe me, I do feel bad, but me, being the pitiful human I am, I've been crossing my fingers that the Rumfallo's don't sue for the death of Brynn. Nobody knows for sure if the cause was bullying, but if any evidence leads to it, we'll all be breaking our piggy banks to try and pay the fine. We don't have the money for this right now.
The girl, what had happened? Why would she kill herself? I have paid for all my faculty to go through a suicide prevention course to prevent anything like this from happening again.
There was another girl, too. Mackenzie was her name. Sure, sure, everybody was sad, but it was concluded Brynn was actually the cause of her death. That case was cancelled, and we all decided to just let it go and pretend it never happened. After Brynn, however, we decided we needed a suicide prevention program.
I hope I fit the pieces of thee puzzle together that Brynn was bullying Mackenzie, Mackenzie took her life, and out of guilt Brynn followed. I really hope there's no outside forces in this case, I hope my students are innocent.
They did an autopsy of Brynn's corpse. She had slits on her wrist and thighs, and they looked rather fresh. Since her body was practically mutilated since it crushed into the blacktop, that was all the 'special' evidence that could be found. The slits seemed to be created with a knife, and after a full search of the Rumfallo house, they found a pocket knife in Brynn's drawer that matched the cuts. After examining the past scars, they concluded she had been a self harmer for about a half of a year.
It's a just so sad to me. They were both young girls with so much ahead of them. They were quite pretty and kept good grades, its funny how they tore each other down and both ended up losing. There is no win side to being a bully, and if you don't believe me, take a good hard look at the Rumfallo/Zieglar case. Every human being has so much worth, and nothing can take that away. They were amazing girls, and now they left slashes on everybody's heart with the way they went.
Now where's that janitor to fix the AC?
