[Kendalls PoV]

I gulped as I heard my name.

Was there a point trying to play stupid still? I guess I could always try.

"Who's Kendall? I'm Ange-" I began, but Amber laughed and cut me off.

"Save the bullshit Vertes, I can see right past your terribly cut hair and fake glasses." She laughed evilly, and I could feel my jaw begin to quiver. What would she do to me?

Wait a minute: why wasn't Amber talking in the annoying way she always does?

Before I could think, that's exactly what I blurted out.

"Well you're obviously hiding something too, seeing as you aren't talking like an annoying prick." I hissed, immediately regretting my intense aggression.

Amber raised her arms in the air as a fake defeat.

"Caught me. I'll tell you my story, as long as you tell me yours." She said, sitting on her creaky bed and gesturing for me to sit on mine. I nodded and sat down, still shaking.

"Kendall, my parents hate my guts. I understand your dad treats you like shit, but mine are the same way. My dads been addicted to drugs since I was 2, and my mom sells herself to make a couple bucks. I was the accident child, of course they hate me. I ruin her prostitute fun and his drug party." She dryly laughed, obviously trying to keep back tears. "I date your brother for the popularity of we're being honest. Your brothers an ass hat, but the popularity I get at school from dating him gives me the feeling of love I never got, even though it's all fake a superficial. I put up the annoying voice and look to seem more like a generic popular girl, it gives me some kind of feeling of being 'normal' even though my family life isn't. What a life, huh? Anyways, I spend my time here instead of at home. It's embarrassing as all hell, but whatever. So, why are you here?" She concluded, and I let her story swarm into my brain.

"I just couldn't stay there any longer." I whispered, and Amber nodded.

"Kendall, I mean, Angel, I say we leave this place. This community center isn't much better either, but we can probably sneak away. I know we're not like, best friends, but I think we both just need to escape the world for a bit." She said, and I thought about it.

"Where would we go?" I asked.

"Anywhere. First, we can get our revenge on our families. I know you bullied that stupid anorexic girl, and I'm sure we can make arrangements for our families, if you're catching my drift." I could barely make out her winking at me from across the poorly lit room.

Was Amber suggesting murder?
I loved it.

"I'm in. We get our revenge, and go from there?" I questioned, and I could dimly see Amber nod and smile.

Suddenly, our room door was open and Rebecca stood there.

"Ladies? It's bed time. Please keep it down." She warned, and we nodded, shut off our lamps, and laid down.

Neither of us could sleep, I could hear her tossing and turning all night like I was. I think we both had the same thing on our mind: revenge.

A/N- It's been about 2 years since I last updated, but oh well. Sorry this is short and not very good, I'm trying to get back in the swing of writing again! I'm sure I still have a very small crowd still interested in this book, but it's all good. Have a great day!
