Chapter 5

"Me too" i chimed in.

"No one eats without saying grace!" my wife said and grabbed my hand.

" Thank you Jesus, for this food amen" i said reaching for the the spoon.

"Stop Lorenzo!" She said slapping my hand away.

"C'mon. I'm hungry" i said.

"Fine. " she mumbled. I kissed her cheek and started putting food on my plate.

"How was school today Marcus?" I said

"Marcus got in twouble." Marcia said.

"Shut up!" he snapped.

"Don't talk to your sister like that." Sam said.

Marcia just cheesed and shook her head. Even at four years old, she knows everything. Which can be annoying sometimes when dealing with my wife but helpful when it comes to stuff like this. "Marcus what happened this time?" i sighed.

"Nothing." he said glaring at Marcia.

" It's always nothing. You better be telling the truth, cuz i'm not in the mood today. I don't wanna hear your principal calling me or imma whoop yo ass in front of yo little friends." Sam said pointing her finger at him.

"How was work daddy?" Kennedy said.

"Good. I just started on this murder case today." i said.

"Tell your father about what happened in school today Candice"

"I fought this girl today in class" she mumbled.

"Did you win?" i said grinning.

"Hell- i mean yea. Im suspended for 2 weeks."

"As long as you didn't start the fight." i said smiling but quickly wiping it off once i glanced at Samantha.

" What is wrong with you? Why u teaching her its okay to fight." she said. Oh lord, hear comes some more of her nagging. I'm never gonna hear the end of this. She is just gonna keep on going and going and going.

"Hello!" she yelled. Waking up Caden our infant son. He immediately started crying and whining giving me a distraction to grab him.

I bounced him on my shoulder and walked around the kitchen with Sam following behind me.

"I got him" she said grabbing him outta my arms and walking away.

The kids left upstairs for bed, leaving me, Caden, and Samantha.

"I'm sorry i yelled at you. I'm just so tired and the kids aren't helping either. I'm home alone while your working all day and Kennedy helps me sometimes but she got a life and i feel like a burden. Taking care of 5 kids aint easy." she said shaking her head.

"I know, but imma take off from work if you need me to" i said

"No, no, no. We need that money." she sighed. She burped Caden and sat him on her lap.

"Imma put Caden to back to sleep, so we can get some sleep." she said getting up.
