9. Obstacles

Harry's POV

"Can you explain to me what these are?" Simon asked angrily, tossing a newspaper and some magazines on a table in the living room. I picked up the newspaper, as the boys grabbed the magazines.

I looked through it, but I couldn't find anything. I always skipped the first pages; they never wrote interesting things there. But each of the boys had different expressions, staring at the covers or browsing the magazines. Liam looked disappointed and a little mad. Zayn's eyes were wide opened, while Niall was concentrating on reading something. Louis was grinning, of course.

"What?" I asked, getting even more confused.

Still grinning, Louis came next to me, and opened the newspaper on the first page. As my eyes fell on the titles, I was finally understanding the boys' expressions.

As I was browsing the first pages of the newspaper with my jaw dropped, I read some lines from that long list of articles:

Right after the girl was picked to go on the stage during One Direction's concert, Style was seen alone with the "mystery girl" during the yesterday's storm. Rumors say that the star stopped the concert to meet her in the parking lot...

Right above this paragraph were two pictures: one with me and April on the stage while I was singing for her, and another with the two of us, standing completely wet, in the constant rain.

I gulped, but I kept reading on to another article.

Although their story is not confirmed yet, it seems like Harry Styles has asked the mystery girl to be his girlfriend...

They had romantic moments...

Dating...

I folded back the newspaper angrily.

"Oh, and that's not all." Niall said, giving me his magazine, full of photographs of me and April at the concert and in the parking lot. How in the world could some cameras capture so well in that rain?

"I'm asking you again, Harry. What's with these?" Simon continued.

"Nothing." I mumbled.

"Oh, really? Then why are those pictures and articles everywhere?!" he exclaimed.

"I--" I began, but Simon cut me off, grabbing a magazine and saying,

"So it wasn't enough for you to mess up the entire concert. You went and had romantic moments in a parking lot with that girl?" he said, pointing to a picture of April in the rain.

"Whoa, Simon, don't you think that this is a little too rough?" Louis said, joining the conversation.

"Too rough, Louis? Isn't it that you were involved in this thing too?" Simon responded.

"No, Louis has nothing to do with this. " I said, taking a deep breath. "It is my fault. I should have been looking for the paparazzi. "

"What makes you think so?" he replied sarcastically. "Do you understand how badly a relationship with this girl can ruin your reputation?"

My eyes widened in shock, as I tried to avoid getting offended.

"What's wrong with her?" I asked plainly.

"Don't you understand, Harry? You are one of the world's most popular teenagers! You have thousands of fans who adore you! You have the fame, Harry, and she..."

My jaw dropped when I understood what he was trying to say. I cut him off, whispering,

"And she is just an ordinary girl." I felt like a massive weight was pressing down my chest.

"Exactly, kid. This ordinary girl can ruin everything!"

"She is far from common, Simon." I said, looking straight at him.

"I don't care! I don't want to see any other pictures like this! Got it?"

"Of course. We promise that this won't happen again. Right, lads? " Liam said, stepping into the conversation.

As I wasn't responding, Zayn hit me softly with his elbow. I tried to nod.

"Good. Don't forget that I'm doing this for you, Harry. Everything will be better if you listen to me." Simon said, heading towards the front door.

"Are you leaving so soon?" Zayn asked.

"Yes. I've got some work to do. I have only visited you to... Clarify the situation."

"Alright then. Sorry for all the problems created. Take care!" Liam said.

"You too, boys. Goodbye."

And with this, Simon left the apartment.

The awkward, endless silence lasted for almost five minutes. We were just standing there, as nobody wanted to break the silence. Eventually, Louis spoke.

"So, shall we go?"

Everyone snapped their heads towards him.

"Go where?" Liam asked.

"At the shopping centre." he said simply. "We are going to find that girl."

Zayn and Liam stared blankly at him. Niall didn't try to say anything.

"Are you serious, Louis? After all the things I've put you all through?" I spoke.

"Oh,come on, Haz. I know you fancy her. You can't just let Simon get between you and this girl!"

"April. Her name is April." I said.

Liam sighed.

"I don't really think that's a good idea." he said.

"It will be fun! Let's go and see our fans." Louis grinned.

"And get some food!! " Niall joined, and we all laughed.

"Fine. But if something goes wrong, it's your fault." Liam said, looking at both me and Louis.

"Sure, laddie." he smirked.

We got out from the house and headed to Liam's car. He was going to drive to the London Shopping Centre, so we could go and meet some of our fans. So I could go and find April. She had to be there.

I needed her to be there.
