Reality always has a backup plan in mind to replace the moments that should be joyful or amazing. No matter how hard you try nothing will ever be perfect because nothing can ever be.

I stir as I feel something crushing my leg when I try to sit up. I honestly don't know where I'm at right now or what is going on right now. Blinking and coughing I try to pry the heavy objective off my leg but could not get it off. I didn't know where I was or what I was doing trapped underneath this object.

I feel a hot burning sensation close when I realize that there is a fire burning close by me. Quickly I look both ways trying to discover where the first is coming from. The only spot that didn't have forte and that was the spot on the road. Sirens screech through the air as I cough a few times as I see another figure lying on the road next to my car, which was flipped over from whatever happened.

I sat there for a moment trying to figure out who it was when it hit me: Phoebe. I try even harder to pry the heavy object off my leg when I felt even more pain in it. Before long I was panting out of breath and too tired to continue trying to get the object off.

The lights were stunning but a good sight for my sore eyes. They flashed throughout the wreckage area where I was lying. I started to wave my arms before the saw me lying underneath the metal. The turned to head out of the wreckage for a minute when I sat up, but the pain was even worse in my leg. I almost started crying, not for myself but what had happened to Phoebe. She trusted me and now she is hurt.

Moments later the person returns with a couple others to get the metal off my leg. I point at Phoebe when one of them nods and heads toward her way. They got the metal off my leg when I realized how much blood I've actually lost from it being cut and trapped underneath.

Two stretchers were brought in for us as we were lifted onto them and hurried out as fast as we could be. I tried to watch what they did with Phoebe as the lifted me into the ambulance before I lost sight of her. They put an air mask on my face as I slipped into a sleep.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock goes the clock over and over as I squint. A nurse hurries into the room before ky parents are right behind her. Wait, my parents? My mother and father had a concerned look on their face as they sat down.

"Alright, what is your name?" The nurse asks.

I raise my eyebrow, "My name is Daniel Harrison. I'm seventeen and have a sister with the name of Toby that is in college. Recently I was in a car accident coming back from seeing a movie with a friend."

"Does this girl have a name?" She continues asking questions.

I nod, "Phoebe Jasmine. When I was four my parents took me on a vacation to a beach where we spent the day playing. We went to a diner where I ordered chicken fingers with a side of fries."

"Well you don't seem to have any memory problems. Could you move your fingers for me?" The nurse kindly asks me. I move my fingers then try to movie my toes when I cringe in pain. I knew my leg my was broken. It was clear that it was because it was being held up in the air.

"Well Daniel," she smiles. "You're extremely lucky unlike your friend."

"Wait what? What happened to Phoebe?"

"She's in a serious medical state."

I swallow, "Can, can I see her?"

"In a hour. Right now you need to talk to your parents," she continues to smile before walking out. Her brown curled hair bounced off her shoulder as she leaves the room. I glace back and forth waiting for my parents to say something to me.
