It was valentines day today which means that school was closed, which means I got to stay home- oh wait no I had to pick up Caleb first and then stay home.

simple right?

WRONG

I picked up Caleb from his house and showed him the way to the party, but once I got there, I was cornered by a group of girls. the leader? Obviously my best friend Mia.

Mia and the group of girls pulled me into a spare bedroom.

"Right... Group A makeup, Group B hair and Group C is nails. I will choose her clothes for her."

I had been ambushed

***

"OMG you look so hot right now" Mia squealed

"I. Am. Going to kill you" I glared at her. But it was true I looked so different from how I usually would look. I looked elegant and refined, with my body slendered and curvaceous.

Mia swiftly pushed me out of the room and into the party

"Just love a little V."

"I think you mean 'live' a little-"

"I mean think about it this may be the last time you see your true love."

I scoffed, "That's stupid. But seeing as it's valentines day and there is no school, I shall let you off."

She hugged me tightly and led the way to the living room- then stops

"Oh, I nearly forgot we have a pool outside... You know what that means?" I shook my head while Mia nodded hers.

"I'll make a deal with you if you do," She began "I will stop trying to get you and Caleb together."

"And?"

"Wing woman for life?"

"You are so bad at these."

I let her lead the way back to the spare bedroom. "Stay here I'll be back with some swimsuits" I nodded and relaxed into the waterbed.

Looking around the room I saw a particular photo on a shelve. It was a picture of a beautiful girl posing in front of the Eiffel Tower.

I had been to Mia's house a lot of times and I had never seen this person or photo before. Mia comes back with the swimsuits and lays them down one by one on the bed.

"Mia, who is that?" She looked in the direction I was pointing at.

"Oh, that's my new step- sister, Nicole, she moved here today." She turns me around so I am facing the swimsuits

"That one"

"Wait really?" She squeals

"Yeah, I mean you did want me to live a little" I awkwardly laugh

"'love' a little, but whatever," she shrugged it off, "I never really thought that you'd pick out something this "revealing" to wear"

"Well, I just did" I walked into the bathroom and get changed. Now had my swimwear under a new different dress. More revealing than the other.

I also got rid of the makeup that was on my face; it started irritating my face.

I came out of the bathroom.

"Ready?"

"Ready."

We both made our way to the poolside and found Caleb, Charlie and Mathew talking about stuff to each other.

"Oh hell no, you are not wearing that." Mathew covered me with a towel, turning me into a living burrito

"Oh please, Mathew just this once" Mia stares at him with puppy dog eyes.

Mathew uncovered me and sits back down, however not without glaring at the first guy he saw watching me. Caleb.

"Come with me Caleb, I am going to get you a date." Charlie began to slowly exit out of the clearly tense scene, dragging Caleb with my socially awkward butt following closely behind.

because why not?

Charlie looked around and locked in on a target "bingo," he mumbled to no one in particular.

"Hi, have you met Caleb?" Charlie pushed him in front of a girl that I have never seen before, yet I seemed to recognise.

Oh this must be-

"Nicole..." Caleb opened his mouth to say something else but nothing came out.

The girl tapped the side of her drink impatiently and waited for him to start speaking. She gave up, "Hello again, Caleb."

Me and Charlie look at each other, bewildered.

"Hello again, Nicole, erm..." he held a piece to paper to his face

"You don't need a piece of paper to do the talking for you," she pushed the paper away from his eyesight and smirked

After a few minutes, they were having a full-on conversation. Caleb gave a thumbs up to Charlie and he responded with the same.

"Alright your turn"

RUN.

By the time he turned all the way around I was gone.
