As me and Caleb arrived at the front of the school it seemed unusual... Almost frightening.
There were decorations everywhere and people at school who, usually, were late.
What is going- oh no, oh God, please do not tell me Valentine's Day is coming up.
"Whoa, is this all for Valentine's Day? it's quite, how do I say without coming out as rude... Over the top?"
Exactly, every year Caleb, every. damn. year.
"Everyone in this whole damn town celebrates it but most of all it is a day for drama" I sighed "... No... a week for drama when it comes to our school" Caleb chuckled.
Everyone felt that they should get hot and bothered when someone back stabbed there friends just to give a boy or girl they like a gift.
This year I planned on definitely not coming to school today. It's too much for me to handle... Especially with my friend, She takes this shit to a whole new level.
Speaking of the devil
"Mia whatever you are excited about, it's a no from me." She stopped in her tracks.
"Oh come on Vic you always do this," she turned her head in the direction of Caleb and whispered so that only I could hear her, "is this your boyfriend?" She teases. My cheeks go bright red almost like I had just eaten the world's hottest chilli pepper.
"We are not dating!" I whisper -yelled back. Caleb must have heard me too because his cheeks suddenly went bright pink
"Let's just get inside lovebirds" Mia exclaimed while she tugged me behind her. Caleb just followed.
As we walked into school, everybody was looking our way. They whispered, practically taunted; it made me feel uncomfortable.
I pulled away from Mia and turned to walk right back out of this school, but unfortunately, I collided with Charlie
"Seriously? again? You gotta stop doing that Vicky" he linked arms with me and dragged me along with him. My evil best friends
I saw my brother in the corner of my eye and we made eye contact. I gave him pleading eyes but he just laughed and carried on talking to his friend.

We take our seats in science.
"So what are your plans for Valentine's Day Mia?" Charlie asks.
"The usual, why?"
Charlie looks at me and rubs the back of his neck, "just asking." He quickly goes back to copying off the board.
"So any who... Caleb, what are you doing for Valentine's Day?" Mia asks glancing at me from time to time.
"Nothing much, probably just staying at home." He, like Charlie, also rubs the back of his neck.
"Oh well, there's gonna be a party on Saturday. I'll tell you the rest of the details if you'd like to come." Caleb gives her a little nod before turning back to the board.

Before we knew it, it was already lunch. Me and Mia make our way to a table with our food; With Charlie and Caleb slowly on our trail. We all sit down at our usual table.
Everyone starts to eat while I procrastinate on my phone, texting my brother.
Mathew{Help me :(
Me {what's up doc?
Mathew{Vic I'm being serious
Me{just tell me then!
Mathew{you know that little tiny crush that I had on Mia?
I look up from my phone to see Mia styling a sleeping Charlie's hair. Behind Mia I see Mathew now giving me a pleading look.
are you going to finally tell her? I mime to him. He looks flustered and quickly goes back to his phone, texting
Mathew{NO... maybe. Promise you'll help me!
I was just about to text back when Mia starts speaking. "So Caleb," Mia says grabbing mine, Charlie's and Caleb's attention, "when's your birthday?"
Here we go again
"March 2th... why do you ask?"
she gives me a look before carrying on with what she was about to say. "I like to find out peoples zodiac signs that are all. like, for example, Vicky's zodiac sign is Taurus; and Charlie's zodiac is Virgo, and my sign is-"
"Cancer and mine is Capricorn" Mathew slides into the empty seat next to Mia. "We have Valentine's dance meeting remember." He playfully flicks forehead retrieving a pout from Mia.
"I told you not to do that anymore," she whines, "and of course I remembered-"
"That it's right now and everyone is looking for you?"
"Shoot. I didn't know it was now!" She quickly packs up her stuff and runs out of the cafeteria with Mathew closely on her trail.
PING
An awkward laugh comes out of Charlie's mouth as he holds out his phone "it's from Mia."
He reads it.
Narrows his eyes.
He texts back.
And slowly sighs.
No reply?
"No reply." He grunts. Suddenly his expression changes "wanna go outside?" Me and Caleb both nod at the same time because it seemed like with the way Charlie was looking at us that we didn't have a choice.
"great" charlie says, before mumbling something inaudible and gets up.

I'm gonna cut this chapter short cause I was about to go on with myself but I realised I was going over my limit on words lol
