Two members of the group, Mirja and Eclipse ran out of the classroom smiling and giggling. They were meeting up with Asteroid after school to go to the local tearoom. It was a weekly thing that they always did on Mondays. Just those three. They were the people that you wouldn't predict to do much outside of the group, but were secretly incredibly open with each other. It was slightly adorable. They were just friends that wanted the best for each other. Eclipse and Asteroid were the only ones that knew about Mirja's crush on Mariah. She confided in those two, and they confided in her. If you wanted your secret to be kept, Mirja was the person to go to. She was so quiet, she was often mistaken for mute, so people never asked her that kind of stuff that most of the gossipers wanted to know.
It took a few minutes for Asteroid to get out of class. He walked up to the other two, who were sitting on a low wall, awkwardly. "Hey, sorry I am late guys. Ms was really mad today and the entire form had to stay behind because one person messed up." He giggled nervously.
"Don't worry about it! Me and Mirja weren't doing anything and we wouldn't dream of going on without you!"
"Yeah this is our thing! Us three barely ever get us time. You two mean a lot to me, you know that, right? It is nice to sometimes get things to be calm and normal, you know?" Mirja smiled warmly at her two friends.
The three wandered down the streets towards the tea shop. Most of the people from their school had gone on ahead as soon as the bell went, so the streets were mostly quiet, concerning high school students. And besides, it was very rare that the trashy, cliche students would go down to a posh, old tea room instead of a modern Starbucks. But everyone in the group stuck out from the rest of the school, everyone for a different reason. Some for the insane sense of styles, others for insane personality, or something completely different. Whatever it was, it was their thing that made them them. And that mattered to them, all of them. Every single member of the group needed that reassuring feeling of being someone that wasn't a replica. But it hit Eclipse hardest of all. He was the one with the most worries with this sort of topic. He always felt like people didn't see him as his own person. He always felt like people saw him as an amalgamate of the broken pieces that were remains of his friends.
As the three spoke and drank their drinks, Eclipse thought he would bring it up. He had been meaning to get it off his chest for a while, "Hey, I don't want to seem self-absorbed and vain, but can I ask you two something?"
"Sure!"
"Of course." Asteroid's voice was full of concern. He knew this was not normal behavior for his friend. As people had often said, he knew everyone and was always there for them.
"So, you know how Indigo started dying her hair years ago? And a while ago, I started doing mine? And how Soulless is known for hating reality, and people think I have similar traits? Well, what do you to think? Wait no! I mean, what do you- no."
"Just say what you mean, Eclipse. Neither of us will judge you, right Asteroid?"
"Yeah."
"What I guess I am trying to say is this. Do you think I am really my own person? Do you think that I depend on the others to be myself, or I can be independent?" The bluenette paused, "Do you really think I can be original, or am I just the weaker parts of all you guys?"
"You better answer this one, we all know how good you are with emotions." Mirja nodded at the white haired boy sitting next to her.
"Eclipse, you are your own person. Your originality makes you the person we love. Just because you and our friends may act or dress in slightly similar ways, that doesn't mean that you don't matter. It just means that you want to show them who they are. Just a few details doesn't define you. There is so much more to you than the few similarities you have with the people close to you."
