Boy, Howdy! This is awkward! Asteriod is not a happy person, but seriously. His parents haven't spoken to him once since he almost drowned. Am I the only one who finds that sad? Wait- I am the narrator. I can't have an opinion.
Ahem.
Asteroid was sitting in his room, his sweater pulled other his knees. His room was also decorated with stars. It was blue, with the shapes all over. He had decorated it himself. He knew it was childish, but he wore a purple massive sweater everyday. So it wasn't that weird. He felt like going out, but decided against it because his friends were all busy. He felt lile phoning Sin again, but decided against it. That kid had enough on his mind.
So did Asteroid. He had learnt a lot from Broken that the others should know, but he had sworn to secrecy. He would never break a promise. But that wasnt his only problem at the moment. He had told someone that things at home weren't easy. He had told Indigo. But he hadn't told them things were getting worse. He wanted to. He wanted to fall into their arms and cry. They were surprisingly supportive, and Asteroid owed them all he could give. But Indigo was an odd case. They never wanted anything. It was odd.
Asteroid got up and went out for a walk. As he left the house, he could hear his parents arguing.
"For gods sake! Why do you keep acting like this?! You used to be something!"
"You say that, but you never were."
"Fuck off!"
"Oh I would! But I actually care about our three year old daughter!"
"Maybe you would have thought about that before you decided that figure in the bar was worth more than me!"
Funny how everyone remembered Asteroid's sister, Sky, but not him. She was born just before the fights got bad. Normally, she would come and hide with Asteroid, but she was at the Ice Rink at the moment with her best friend.
Asteroid sighed sadly as he walked, his music playing in his ears. It was a piece that sounded happy, but in a way where you could tell sadness was behind it. It was like someone forcing themselves to be happy. That was never easy to do, and Asteroid knew that. He had had practice. The white haired teenager looked up at the grey sky. He gave a sad smiled and whispered to himself in a hoarce tone, his voice cracking a little. "Isn't today such a wonderful day to be here?" He closed his eyes. The street was empty when he had looked. Now, in the quiet world of his mind, it didn't exist. He was it home, his parents were happy again. Sky was growing up well, with a loyal mother who had gone back to her family. And The Seven were all back on the path to happiness, including himself. Everyone was doing so well.
But all to soon, someone walked into Asteroid, knocking him over. He didn't see who, but heard their voice as they whispered a single word in his ear "Freak." It may only be one word, but it was still something that could hurt. People like Asteroid are fragile. Just touching them can break their minds, but their face show a plastered on smile that can be worn like a mask and no one will notice, let alone care. He had just heard that his parents forgot about him so easily, so why did he even bother? He knew that Eclipse was living with Indigo at the moment, and it was tempting to run away as well. But he had to be there.
Even if it is easier sometimes, you can't always run away. Sometimes you have to rise up and face it. If pain gets you down, you still have to stand up. If someone knocks you to the floor, get back up, push off the dirt and give them the middle finger. Show them that you don't give a shit and walk away. That was what Asteroid wanted to do. He had watched his friends do it, but he didn't want to lose his mask.
