Link went to bed not long after Zelda had left, before he went to bed he made himself a cup of hot coco in response to the outside temperature dropping well below freezing. Link looked out the window as he enjoyed his hot beverage. As the sky darkened a light snow began to fall.
Link picked up his phone and texted Zelda. Have you looked outside yet? I really think you should. He wrote.
Buzz. Link saw Zelda had left a message. Yes, it's beautiful outside I can't wait to see you. He smiled, Link hadn't been this happy sense the beginning of September.
Link drifted off to sleep with a warm feeling in his heart. The snow continued to fall and by morning there was a good five inches of the fluffy white stuff.
Link woke up at 7:45 so he had enough time to do every thing he needed to do, Including take a shower. But as soon as he woke up he went right back to sleep as he would tend to do, even on school days. It was 8:24 when he finally decided to get himself out of bed.
After he was done with his shower he headed to the closet to pick out an outfit, and he was just as bad as a teenage girl but after many minutes he finally went with a dark green sweater, some fairly new blue jeans, a lime green jacket, brown snow boots and a green winter cap. He checked in the mirror to make sure nothing looked to bad. After he okayed himself his phone started ringing. Oh it's Zelda, it's a little early. Link though.
"Hello Zelda, why did ya call?" Link asked.
"To make sure that you where up. I know how much you like to sleep in silly." Zelda replied in a playful voice.
"Well I'm up and ready to go but I haven't had breakfast yet." Link said.
"Oh okay, I'm eating right now so see you at 12:30. Bye Link."
"Yeah see you then. Bye Zelda."
Link ended the call and went downstairs to the kitchen to find something to eat. When he arrived at the kitchen he stopped in his tracks.
"Mom, dad! What in Hyrule's hills are you doing home? I thought you were coming back next week." Link stood there shocked but quickly went and hugged his parents.
"Hello to you too Link. We missed you so much." Link's mother said in a loving tone. "It has been awhile since we've seen you. So how are things going at school and with your friends?"
Link told his parents about school and they talked for a long time. The last thing Link told his parents about how he was going to the park with Zelda.
"Speaking of Zelda I have to go it's noon now I have to go." Link said a little hurried. He opened the door and before he left he gave his parents a hug.
"Bye guys, love you." And with that he ran out the door. He stopped about half way to the park to check the time. 12:09.
Link finally made it to the park with a couple minutes to spare. He sat on a small wooden bench and waited for Zelda.
Not long after he saw Zelda coming in to the park. She looked a little annoyed but as soon as she saw Link a huge grin was painted on her face as she ran to greet her friend. Link started to run towards Zelda as well and meet her in the middle.
"Hey you!" Zelda called out to Link.
"Hi, you looked a little annoyed back there. Any particular reason?" Link asked cautiously.
"Oh my mom is just a little worried that I'm hanging out with you so much all of a sudden, ya know...because you're a...guy and all that. But I told her she has nothing to worry about, so that's why l seemed upset." She sighed.
Link's face began to grow warm, he couldn't tell if it was from the cold or embracement or both, he assumed both.
"Well it doesn't matter we know we're friends and that's what matters, right?" Link had a soft and reassuring voice.
"Yeah, I guess your right." Zelda said. "So, what do you want to do, Link?" She asked.
"Well..." Link bent down and picked up some of the snow and tried to made a snowball. Success! Link than smirked at the unsuspecting Zelda and threw the snowball, lightly so he wouldn't hurt her, in the back. But his tragedy was off and the snowball hit her in the butt.
Zelda was shocked with the cold sensation in her rear. She turned around to see Link standing there trying to hold in his laughter. Zelda quickly grabbed a hand full of snow, shaped it in to a ball, and hit Link square in the face.
"You are so dead Zellie!" Link had small smirk on his face.
"I am, really? Well this is a declaration of war!" Zelda and Link started a snowball fight and with in minutes random children and teenagers joined in. The fight lasted for about thirty minutes, because everyone's arms were sore.
"Wow, Zelda I didn't know you could throw like that!" Link complemented.
"Thanks Link, but its nothing, me and my dad would always have snowball fights like that!"
"Well now that we've done that do you want to build a snowman?"
"Sure! I know, we can make a snowman family!" Zelda said excitedly.
Link just gave a nod and smiled. It was near 2:15 when they finally finished the snowman family. There where four snow people, a mother, a father, and two kids.
"I think we did a good job Link. What do you think? Zelda was happy with there creation.
"The best snowmen ever." Link looked down to see a cold and damp Zelda standing at his side, her teeth chartering a little. "You cold Zel?" He asked.
"Y-yeah, I'm a l-little c-cold. Why?" Zelda shivered.
Link a little cold himself came up with an idea and said, "Why don't we go to the cafe and get some coco?"
"S-sounds good to m-me!"
