I don't know what I expecting when I followed Vic into his car but it was most definitely not this raging house party. Strobe lights lit the room and a humping mass of people danced in the center of the living room. The sliding door was wide open to the backyard where a small fire was burning and drunk people loitered around it. I stuck close to Vic as he expertly weaved his way between the drinking party-goers, and without thinking about it, I entwined our hands together.
He smiled back at me and I bashfully returned the gesture. The crowd somehow let up for us and in time we were standing in the florescent kitchen. There were a few stragglers puttering around and Vic reached across the kitchen island to hand me a plastic cup filled to the brim with alcohol. I wasn't a newbie to drinking and easily guzzled down about three gulps before coming up for air. Impressed, Vic tapped our cups together before once again grabbing my hand and leading me to the living room. I tried to ignore the way my face heated up from the simple contact.
Techno music blasted from the DJ stand that was set up near the front of the room. Vic and I had separated from the guys and I easily spotted Hime's skunk hair in the crowd with a beautiful brunette. I couldn't find Mike or Tony before Vic was tugging me towards the dancing mob. I hesitated for a second, and sensing my hesitation, Vic raised an eyebrow. I chugged the rest of my drink before tossing my cup onto a neglected table.
It wasn't that I was shy about dancing around other people - seriously, how ironic would that be? - it was just that I was dancing with Vic. It was a totally different thing. This was intimate - or was I just over thinking things? The last person I had danced with in a party had been my boyfriend, and that usually ended up with drunk sex in a bedroom upstairs. What if Vic was expecting that from me?
As if sensing my troublesome thoughts, Vic massaged my shoulders and gave me a lazy smile, "Relax and have fun, Kayla."
My body behaved accordingly. Vic pressed his chest against my back and wrapped his warm arms around my waist, pulling me close to him. I could smell his aftershave and the alcohol on his breath. The music was so loud that my body vibrated with every deep bass. Our bodies moved like one and I felt like my veins were on fire.
I don't know how long we danced before Vic pulled away. I fought off the feeling of disappointment as he was dragged away by some fake blonde. He was smiling widely as she pressed her boobs against his chest and did some weird dance move. It looked like she was having a fucking seizure but Vic didn't seem to care and placed his hands on her waist.
Asshole.
I grumbled under my breath and headed towards the kitchen, hoping to find another drink and to forget my confusing thoughts about Vic. He was just my student and that's all he would ever be. It was too soon after my ex to even begin thinking about another man in my life. A voice that sounded suspiciously like Morgan's whispered a taunting, it's not too soon for love.
Shush up, Morgan-sound-alike.
The night wore on and I found myself dancing with loads of other men. The drinks kept coming and who was I to turn them down? By midnight I was tripping on my own two feet and giggling at anything that moved. I was dancing with a guy, his hands over my hips and hot breath on my neck. He had long brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, and he was taller than me.
I thought it was love.
"Come home with me." I breathed against his ear, my fingers tangled in his silky hair.
The lights made his face seem all the more beautiful. God, we should get married and make beautiful light babies. They'd be perfect.
"Fuck yeah, Kayla."
I didn't think much of him knowing my name. I was too drunk and my brain felt like mush. My hands grabbed his though, and I began to shakily walk backwards. His eyes stayed trained on mine and when we parted from the hoard of dancing hormones, he pressed me against the wall and pressed his soft lips against mine.
He tasted like chocolate and vodka. I wanted more. My hands ran up and down his back and his hands found residence on my hips. They felt like they belonged there.
"Kayla, Kayla, Kayla." He moaned my name against my neck like it was prayer.
I tugged at the hem of his shirt; I wanted so much more of this Chocolate man. He seemed to understand my earning and began to lift his shirt up - my eyes were hungrily awaiting to see his chest - but before he could even rip the offending fabric off, he was being pulled back.
"Okay you two, break it up there." A skunk laughed, although he didn't seem to find what was happening very funny.
A girl stood beside him, "Hey, isn't that your choreographer?"
I opened my mouth to answer her question, but my stomach did a flip and I felt like my stomach was coming up. I turned around and puked in the planter. I heard Skunk groan as he rubbed my back.
"Thanks." I muttered, wiping at my mouth.
"Come on, Kayla. Let's get you and Vic home."
I hummed in agreement and latched onto his arm. The girl was fluttering around Chocolate man - haha, that's such a cute name - but he didn't seem to want to come with us. I didn't understand why she was even trying to bring him in the first place - he wasn't Vic.
"Hime." The girl groaned, tired of fighting Chocolate man.
"Whatever, just leave him."
The girl nodded and stood on my other side, helping the Skunk lead me out of the party. I whined but allowed them to lead me to a familiar black car. I slid into the backseat and sprawled myself against the cold leather, already feeling tired.
"Do you think she'll remember kissing Vic?" The girl asked as Skunk pulled out of the drive.
"I can't see why not. They were practically fucking each other."
The girl squealed and slapped his arm, "Hime!"
I rolled onto my side and closed my eyes, not really registering their words. Whatever. I just want to go to sleep and dream about my light babies.
