When the doorbell rang signaling Vic's arrival, the twins jumped to their tiny feet and ran to greet the new person. I picked up Rose, who cried in protest but quieted down when I began to bounce her. Ben bounced excitedly as I peeked through my peep hole to see Vic in all his glory wearing a beanie and holding a drink holder of McDonalds. I can't help but smile and open the door.

"Hi! I'm Ben!" Ben shouted as he wrapped his pale arms around Vic's skinny jean clad legs.

Nick hid shyly behind me as Vic smiled down at the social butterfly.

"Hi, I'm Vic. You guys want some drinks?" He asked, holding up the tray.

"Can we, auntie?" Ben asked, pleadingly looking at me.

"Sure."

Nick emerged from behind me and softly said hello to Vic before allowing Ben to lead him into the kitchen. Vic finally looked at me and to my surprise, grabbed me by the elbow and pulled me into him so he could kiss me on the cheek. I blushed red and hid it behind Rose's head as he turned and followed the twins.

"I like the color red. It tastes good." Ben informed Vic.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah! But Nick likes brown." Ben made a weird face.

"Mommy says that there's nothing wrong with brown." Nick stated, tugging at the icee Vic was sliding towards him.

Ben scoffed and rolled his eyes, and once both boys had their drinks, they chimed a thank you and scuttled back into the living room. I placed Rose into a little bouncer that I had on hand and leaned against the counter, smiling Vic. He grinned at me and folded his arms.

"What's with the sudden urge to spend time with me?" I asked teasingly, flipping my hair.

"Can't get enough of me?"

"Something like that," He laughed, making his eyes crinkle adorably. "I was actually pretty bored and you know . . . feeling down. So, here I am, ready to party and all that jazz."

"Oh no, there will no partying tonight. Just watching Disney movies and sleeping." I quickly stated, already knowing that those icees are seriously going to mess up the boys.

Vic raised his hands up in innocence, "Of course, Boss Lady."

I sighed in relief and bent down to pick up Rose, who gurgled happily up at me. Vic followed me into the living room and there we got situated; Vic sitting at the edge of the couch with my head in his lap as I held Rose on my chest. The boys had made a fort and since the TV was blocked from the expanse of sheets, Vic and I enterained ourselves by playing with Rose.

"Do you want kids?" I asked softly, running my hand through Rose's blonde curls.

He hummed, "Maybe one day. I never really thought of it. What about you, want kids?"

"Oh yeah, I want kids. I've always wanted a big family, you know with the picket fence and the perfect husband."

"And where's your perfect husband?" Vic asked, grabbing a strand of my hair and tugging playfully on it.

I shrugged, "Guess he got lost. He'll find me eventually."

"I'm sure he will."

I smiled happily and glanced at my phone, my eyes bulging when I saw that it was nearly nine.

"Time for bed, kiddos!" I said, leaping to my feet and heading towards the fort.

I peeled back a sheet and smiled when I saw Nick and Ben already asleep, bundled together in a little blanket nest. I decided to leave them there, and while Vic skillfully snuck out of the living room, I turned the Tv on mute and led Vic to my bedroom. With a start, I realized that this was going to be his first time in my room.

It was nothing special really, just a large queen bed with white blankets and an expanse of pillows. My dresser was full of pictures from my childhood years, of me and Morgan, and some of me holding the twins when I had came down to see them for the first time. I had a playpen set up at the foot of my bed and slowly placed Rose onto it, who stared up at me with dopey eyes. I knew she'd pass out in seconds.

"So, this is the infamous Kayla Winters' bedroom. Hmm." Vic noted, grabbing a picture of me and my parents.

"Not what you were expecting?" I asked, pulling the covers back and crawling into bed.

"Nah, I was expecting a sex dungeon or something."

"Vic!" I laughed, shaking my head.

He grinned and toed his shoes off, quickly getting comfortable beside me. It felt so natural for us to do this, and as he reached over me to turn the lamp light off, I decided that I could get used to this. We were silent for the first few moments before Vic inhaled a shaky breath and pulled me into his chest, burrowing his face into my neck. I clutched him tightly when I felt my neck start to dampen.

I didn't know what to say, so instead I snuggled closer and peppered his scared arm with kisses. He held me impossibly tighter.

"You're amazing, Kayla." He whispered hoarsely.

"And you're brilliant." I retorted.

He chuckled, "Never one to take a compliment, are you?"

"Not when it's least deserved."

Vic opened his mouth to retort but I placed my hand over it and grinned at him, "Go to sleep, Victor."

He glared at me for using his full name but gave up and flopped onto his back. I turned and curled into my blanket when I felt his hand start to run through my hair, brushing it back and down my back.

"Why did you come to LA?" He asked softly, his hand not stopping.

I sighed and buried my face deeper into my pillow. I knew this question was bound to come up but I was hoping it wouldn't be asked when I felt so tired that I'd tell Vic anything he wanted to know.

"I walked in on my boyfriend cheating on me with my so called best friend," I revealed. "A couple days before that I had just finished a choreograph so I had no work, and Morgan had suggested me moving to LA. It seemed right."

"I'm glad that you moved here." Vic muttered.

Me too, I think, and turn over to face him. He's already half asleep, his eyes heavy as he stared at me. I push back his hair and press a quick kiss to his forehead. For once, I don't feel lonely when I fall asleep.
