A.N. I'm so so sorry guys!! I know it's been a long time since my last update. But the next chapters finely here! Yay!!! I'm sorry again for the wait. On with the story!!!
"Are we there yet?" I asked after hours of walking, but got no reply. "Are we there yet?" I asked again, still no reply. "Are we there yet?" I asked once more, getting annoyed.
"You know. For a girl who almost died. You sure whine a lot." Jorge said.
"Says you old man! I'm not the one who's getting tired. And maybe you should answer me the first time if you didn't want me to repeat myself!!" I snapped.
"You really shouldn't piss her off." Minho smiled. I looked at him and lightly slapped him on the arm. He just smiled at me and kissed my forehead. It wasn't long till we finally reached some buildings again. After a hour worth of walking, the sound of movement and talking was heard.
"Ah... Guys." I heard Frypan say. Looking at him I seen him looking else where. Following his line of sight, I seen WICKED. We all then quickly rushed in towards an abandoned building behind us and hid there.
"What are they doing here?" Newt asked.
"I don't know Newt. How about we go ask them?" I said, slightly annoyed. The looked at me like as if I was on my period. Yea, I know I'm stroppy. But it doesn't mean I'm on my period! I'm just paranoid. And maybe. Just maybe! Being a tad over protective.
Turning around I had a look at our surroundings. It looked like an emptied out pharmacy. But there was still some abandoned things left lying around. As I walked further in to look, I heard a sudden rattle at my feet. Looking down I seen a needle. That's when all of a sudden my head started to thump.
-flash back-
Sitting in the lab I extracted some blood from my arm. Smiling, I put drops of it into tubes. After mixing my blood with other liquids, I extracted into many long needled. Taking the needles over to the next room. I seen many tubed in the room filled with water, where inside where my creations. My children I like to call them. Although I'm no more then a child myself.
"Arr!!" I heard a little cry behind me. Turning around, my smile grew.
"Good morning sleep head." I smiled, as I patted my little Grievers head. "You'll have more brother and sisters soon." I smiled as I turned back to the tubes, with the still developing Grievers. Flare, my little Griever, purred and rubbed his head against my leg. Taking the needles, I began to inject the liquid inside my newest Grievers.
"Taylor. Is their any new recruits?" Ava asked as she entered the room. Her hands went on my shoulders as she watched me inject the remaining needle into the Griever. From the corner of my eyes I seen Flare cower under a table. His never been one for people.
"There's four. But there not exactly ready yet." I replied as I walked out of the room. Ava followed me out of the room down a hall into a big yard like room. Letting out a whistle I stood there and waited. It wasn't long till many full grown Grievers came out from hiding and stood in front of me.
"Arr!!" They all cried in cheer. Taking a few steps forward, I went to pat some of them on the head. "Grr!!" They all suddenly growled. That's when I remembered Ava followed me in here and just like Flare, they don't like people.
"It's ok. It's ok. Shh... Shh..." I farmed them all down, making their attention fall back on me. Moving to my left was a panel. Clicking the small blue button food started to fall from the sealing into the little kennels. "Dinner time." I smiled. They all then went to their kennels to go eat, but not without sending a glare to Ava. Once they all entered I said good night to them all before pressing the big red button that closed their kennels.
"So which ones aren't just ready yet to move away from home? Away from their mummy to see the world?" Ava asked me as she moved to my side.
"Susan, Bethany, Rachel, Pete, Ryan, Andy and Megan." I said, as I pointed at their kennels. "But even though their grown up. Their still young. I don't think their ready." I replied.
"I know you want what's best for them, but you have to let them go or they'll never be ready." Ava smiled.
"I-I guess so." I said, unsure if what she said was right.
The next day when I went back to feed them their dinner and get them ready for bed, I noticed that the ones I pointed out to Ava yesterday morning were missing. I even checked their kennels to see them not there.
-time skip-
When Thomas, Minho and I got to the Glade and went to see Alby, he was sitting on his bed with a sad distant look.
"Ably?" I said. He did seemed to snap back to reality when I said his name, but it wasn't till Thomas knelt in front of him that he spoke.
"I remember..." He cried.
"Your remember? What do you remember?" Thomas asked.
"You." Alby said. His voice sounded kinda dark when he said it. Like he remembered Thomas, but not in a good way. "This is all your fault." He cried. Next second we know there were cried coming outside of the medic hut. Thomas, Minho and who ever else who was in the room left to see what was going on.
"Alby." I spoke.
"Only you can save us Tay. Only you can stop them." Alby cried.
What does he mean only I can save us? What does he mean I can stop them?? Stop what exactly??? All of a sudden two of the medics rushed in and grabbed Alby. That's when I realised something bad was happening. Rushing out of the hut, I seen many Grievers running a muck. They were destroying everything and killing anyone who got in their way. It wasn't till one of them stood in front of me that I thought it was the end for me. But we just looked at each other. It looked strangely familiar but I couldn't quite place it.Then thing I know, it picked me up and threw my to one of the other Grievers who threw me to another. The third griever that caught me seemed to have stung me with out realising and continued to carry me. It wasn't till after we left the glade that I passed out from the pain.
-end of flash back-
I collapsed to the ground crying and screaming.
"Taylor!!" The others cried at my sudden out burst.
"Taylor! Look at me. Look at me. What wrong? What happened?" Minho asked, as he attempted to calm me down. As he had his arms around me, I just fell into his chest and continued to cry and shake.
"It's my fault. It's all my fault." I cried.
"What's your fault?" I heard Newt question.
"Their deaths. Everybody's deaths." I continued to cry.
"What do you mean? Who's deaths?" Minho asked, as he cherished my hair.
"All the gladers. It's my fault they all died." I cried.
"No. No. It's not your fault. It was the WICKED and those Grievers." Minho tried to reinsure me.
"Minho!" Teresa tried to stop him. So she remembers too?
"You don't understand! I was with them!" I cried. "I created the Grievers. I'm their mother." I cried, looking into his eyes.
