"I'm telling you Vince, commitment is a battle you won't win." I sighed as he was once again on some rant about a girl that he was sure was "the one."
"Rex, just because you got stuck in a toxic relationship for a couple years doesn't mean love doesn't exist." he argued as he sat down at the lunch table with his meat that only the government knew what animal it actually came from.
"I don't think love is dead, I just think you can hang out with girls without a label. I'm not gonna date a girl until I think I want to marry her." The same argument I always had.
"Rex just hear me out-" he was cut off by a girl
"Hey Vince I don't think we're gonna work out, sorry." This girl said as I choked down a laugh.
"Come on Heather we've only been dating for two days." Vince complained.
The girl I assumed was Heather replied "Sorry Vince that's two days too long."
I laughed as Heather walked away.
Obviously Vince was over Heather because he pointed at the door and said "dibs."
I looked over just as the new girl walked in.
"Oh, that's Sarah." I said. "We have science together second hour. She's cute I guess. I'm not really in the game right now.
"Even if you were in the game right now I wouldn't care. I called dibs." He said.
Everything about Sarah was short. Her stature, her hair, and especially her temper. She had a brown hair shaved on the sides but about 8 inches on the top, a round face and dimples. The only open seat in science was next to me so that's where she had to sit. I got to know her pretty well. Her family moved from Michigan during the summer after the factory her dad was a supervisor at closed. Sarah was a total rebel.
I figured out Sarah had a short temper because in science she messed up an experiment by taking wrong measurements and threw her meterstick across the room. When it hit another student in the head he threatened to tell the teacher who was out in the hall. She said something heavier than a stick would hit him in the head if he told on her. That shut him up.
"Alright, Vince," I smirked "you can have her, just tread carefully. She's got an attitude."
