The next time you open your eyes, you find yourself in an unfamiliar place. You are no longer in your bed. In fact, it isn't even your apartment. No, you are in dark room. It only has one window, but it is covered by closed blinds, just bleeding enough light for you to make out your surroundings.

Oh my god... Where am I?

The room is circular and the only door is a hatch on the floor, so you think you must be in an attic of some sort. The walls are grey and the wooden floor is cracked and splintered. The only things that surround you are dust covered sheets that look to be covering pieces of furniture, lining the wall. In the center of the circle lies the hatch with no handle.

You stand up to walk over to the hatch, when you find yourself stuck. Something is pulling you back. You turn around to find a single chain with both ends attached to each of your wrists, with the center of the chain bolted into the wall. The chain has enough slack for you to move your hands around, but not enough to get to the center of the room.

You look around, looking for anything useful, but the only things in here are sheets you can't even reach. And the pajamas on your back. You have nothing.

You pull and pull, but the chain wont budge. You punch the wall out of frustration. You can feel bruises start to take their form on your wrists. The panic starts to settle in. Your breathing becomes heavy and your mind is racing.

Why am I here? Who brought me here? Will I ever get out? Will anyone even know I'm gone? Oh god...

You sit back down, with your back against the wall and your head resting on your knees.

Just calm down (y/n). You'll get out of here. You just need to-

Then came a pound. You sit up. It sounded like it came from beneath you. Then a creak, then tiny clumps that sound like steps.

Someone is coming.

Quickly you can only think about still pretending to sleep, hopefully fooling your captor that you are still sleeping so that they go away and leave you some time to plan your escape. So you lie down on the hard, dusty floor, close your eyes, and steady your breathing.

But your heart is pounding. Almost in sync with the clumps of footsteps that are getting louder and closer.

Then they stop. You hear a click of what you think is the lock on the hatch, then a squeak as it swings open.

Behind the darkness of your eyelids, you can only imagine what your captor looks like. Who it could be. Someone you know? Hopefully not.

You can feel the steps shake the floor as they get closer to you. The presence of this person gives an eerie feel to the air. When they stop, you can almost feel their eyes bearing into you, like daggers in your back. You remain still.

"You're not asleep. I can feel it." It's a man. Oh god. His voice isn't deep, but very flat. Showing no emotion. You still don't move.

"You aren't really good at acting, now, are you? You think you're real smooth trying to trick me. Thinking that you were asleep. And to do what?" You feel him kneel on the ground to lean his face in close to your ear. "Find more time to escape?"

Your heart sinks. He knows. But how?

He chuckles softly, then gets back up. Now you feel him move behind you, closer to the wall. You hear the cling of the chain being unhooked and dragged, moving your hands in front of your body.
