It had been so normal. Everything. How I missed it. Now I was always tired, always unhappy. Nothing brought me happiness anymore. I had no friends, unless you count that freak. My career was gone, and all of the people who I love. I had betrayed them. No, he had. That demon had. He ruined my life. He ruined everything. I never asked to be this way. Crazy. Untrustworthy. I was right in the middle of his bull shit. 'Chosen' he called it. Why me? Why did he have to come ruin my life? And ruin others'. All the people I've hurt... I don't want to think about it. I guess it's not a good idea to continuously mock something as great as Antisepticeye.

"Wapoosh! Top of the morning to ya laddies!! My name is Jacksepticeye, and welcome to Lila's Tale. So far this game seems a bit like Little Nightmares, with the character design and atmosphere. So! This game stood out for me in particular because it's like a point-and-click-game, but it's like a look-and-click-game, if that makes any sense. You move your head wherever you want Lila to go. See?" I moved my head around, and the little light focused on my character moved, along with the little girl. I giggled a little. "This is pretty cool. This doesn't seem like a VR kinda game, but I really enjoy the whole look-and-click thing. Wait, why did I say look-and-click? It's like look-and-move or something. You guys can name it for me."
I was pretty deep into the game, and I was really enjoying it. It was a fresh, new view at VR, and it was neat. "I am absolutely in love with this art style!" I chuckled. I was looking around to try and finish the puzzle, then something popped up on screen. I jumped up from my chair, nearly hitting my mic with my hand flying past. "Holy shit! Jesus that scared me," I laughed. "I didn't even see what that was, fuck! Now I'm going to be paranoid the whole time. I guess it's a bit of a horror game, eh?" I laughed a little more. It hadn't said anywhere in the description that it was horror at all. Guess it was a surprise. Sure as hell surprised me, that's for sure.
A half an hour passed, and I finished recording. I collected the audio, video, and game recordings, making sure nothing got corrupted or anything shut off during the playthrough, and sent it off to Robin. I gathered the cords and equipment I used, and put it all back in its original place. I sat back down, and opened up my note book to look at some recording options. I crossed off 'Lila's Tale' and moved down the list. 'Overwatch—do something special??' I could play with Mark, Bob and Wade again. Everyone seems to enjoy that a fair bit. I thought. Maybe I'll play with Mark and Felix, I'll have to check in with them. I picked up my phone and checked my notifications. Twitter and Tumblr galore, plus a few emails, Facebook... Messenger. Nothing too important. I opened a text from Signe which read: 'Going to do some running around, need anything? I'll be back soon 😘' I smiled. She was so sweet. I replied, and shut off my phone, returning to my computer.
I was texting Mark about that Overwatch game, but suddenly I heard a door creak open. I put the phone down and stuck my head out the door.
"Signe? That you?" no one replied. "You trying to scare me? I'll wait," I chuckled, waiting for her to come around the corner. "I'm waiting!" I laughed a little. Still, no one came. "I'm going back to work, come scare me when you feel like it," I wheeled around back into my office. I returned back to work, but Signe never came in. Must've been hearing things. About an hour later, Robin had sent me a message back. It read: 'half-way through the video the recording went all weird. It's the bit where you got scared by nothing? Anyway, I imagine you still want the face-cam in there, do you want to record yourself being scared or just leave it? The audio went all staticky as well. It looks pretty creepy when the recording cuts out, we could do some more Anti stuff if you wanted.' I finished reading the message, but a certain sentence stood out. 'It's the bit where you got scared of nothing?' There had definitely been something there. I don't know what, but it was there. Maybe Robin just didn't catch it. I shrugged the thought off and thought about his request. The community sure loved Anti, but it was a lot of work, and it meant tons of planning. I think we'll skip it this time.
I played a nice few games of Overwatch with Mark and Felix, and I was done for the day. I stood up, stretched, and closed the window before I left the room. As I closed the door, I felt a shiver down my back. I flipped around, ready to see someone or something, but there was only a white wall with a plant beneath it. I still felt a sense of uneasiness. Like someone was there. Watching me. I continued to walk down the hall into the kitchen. I expected Signe to be there, but then I remembered she had gone to make a video with Marzia. The first one actually, they were both really excited for it. I wandered into the living room, flopped down on the couch, and flipped on the TV. Some show came on about buying houses. I rolled my eyes and smiled. I decided to keep it on, sometimes these shows were entertaining. Never mind. The realtor had the personality of a wet paper bag. Hell, a wet paper bag would have a better personality. I changed the channel. Now it was a cooking show with Gordon Ramsey. The only one I'll watch. His tomato-red face, accent, and the fact he screams at every human he meets, it made him hilarious. At a distance. At a very large distance.
After a lot of channel surfing, I checked the time. 7:42. Signe should've been back by now. I checked my phone only to find social media notifications. Nothing from her. There was a slight tightness in my chest, but I had a feeling she was fine. I stood up to get supper ready for when she came home (reheats or not, it's still making supper). I blinked a few times to clear the dizziness away as I stood. For only a split moment, the whole room was a pale green, covered in dirt, the wall almost entirely gone in some places, and there was blood splattered everywhere.
"What the fuck!" I shouted to no one in particular. Almost tripping on the sofa, I steadied myself. I searched the room frantically, as if looking for the source of the strange scene. "I need some food and sleep. Jesus," I tried to shake the little hallucination off. Was it a hallucination? Or just a trick of the light? But why could I still see it so vividly in my mind? I kept trying to stop thinking about it, but it kept reoccurring in my thoughts. I sat back down with some home-made Mac n' Cheese, turning on some Rick and Morty to try and distract me from my thoughts. I heard the door open. I put down my supper and looked to see who it was. Finally, Signe was home.
"Sorry, it took a little longer than we had planned, hope I didn't scare you," she took of her shoes and coat, and I gave her a 'half hug'.
"Nah, you didn't scare me. I knew you were coming home, so I got supper ready for you."
"Aww, thank you Seàn, you're sweet," she pecked me on the check and went into the kitchen to get her food. We sat on the couch and watched the new episodes of Rick and Morty together. With my arm around her and her head resting on my shoulder, I realised how lucky I was. To have such a wonderful life and a wonderful girlfriend. I wish this moment could carry on forever.

Too bad it wouldn't.
