Father shouldn't mind me staying for one night... Right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My body was engulfed in the soft, silky red sheets. My head lay on the stiff pillow. It wasn't the most comfortable but my splayed out position probably didn't help. Aphmau somehow persuaded me into spending the night, which honestly I didn't mind. It's not like I had my satchel anymore. All I had was (H/n) and myself.
I groaned as my back popped back into place, the sound pleasant.
"Alright, time to head back. Father will have my head just for staying here." I messed up my hair as I slid out of bed, the cold stone floor making my feet feel pinpricked.
Hopping into my boots and sliding my top on, I exited through the oak door, leaving it ajar for the next.
The stairs creaked and the few voices I heard, silenced. Once I got up all the stairs, I saw the three guards from before and Lady Aphmau.
"Good morning." Nodding to them, I headed to Blueberry. "Where did you station my horse?"
He sighed and waved his hand while he started walking. 'Guess I follow him.' I walked beside him as I saw quite a large red building in front of us.
"Right in there. Find Kiki then ask for (H/n)...Or whatever it was. Safe travels." He then left, leaving to go in by myself.
The barn itself was larger than average, meaning it had to hold many animals of all sorts, right? That was answered as I walked through the slightly ajar doors.
"Hello? Is there a Kiki in here? The blue haired guard said my horse was stationed here..." I called out. The inside was magnificent, it honestly felt like I've seen every animal now, who needed books for that anyways?
"Right here!" I turned around with my heart jumping, "Oops! Sorry~." I took in her features now that I was sure my soul didn't leave my body. She had mid-back, red hair that was in a braid. Her eyes shined a bright emerald green which clashed perfectly with her long pink dress, adorned below an apron.
"Hello... I'm here to pick up my horse." I nodded towards the stables.
"Right!" She jumped and ran to the third stable, unlocking it and bringing my horse out by their reins. She patted their head before giving (H/n) to me.
I quickly thanked her and saddled myself on (H/n). I waved to her and continued on my way back to Gardasia. Stomach full with empty pockets.
I managed to roughly escape the treacherous forest. Oh the horror~
Kidding, I'm fine. Kinda.
I sighed as I finally reached the gates, ready to leave again. I waved to a smaller guard who then lifted the gate. I trotted out of the safe village gates as I started my way back. The trip was boring, to say the least, and I swear I didn't nod off a few times... Totally not.
The towering castle seemed more looming when it rained. And it was.
By the time I escaped the thick brush, you could hear the crackling of the lightning, which echoed through the narrow passage.
I sighed and ran even faster to the gates.
"I swear, Jonavin if you do not let me in, I will behead you myself!" I threatened my comrade who typically messed with me. However, he didn't smirk like he would've, instead, Jonavin immediately lifted it up and yelled back at me.
"Prince (M/n)! Your mother and father are worried sick! You better hurry before they do something rash!"
Giving him a confused glance, I travelled through the city at an increasing speed. I definitely don't want to arrive later than I already am. The old, oak doors were heavy as I jumped off (H/n) and pushed with all my might.
My mother and father were already there, my mother sitting in her chair, head in her hands. My father pacing back and forth through the dining hall. I inhaled a shaky breath and walked with confidence in my stride.
"I have returned."
They both stopped and whipped their heads to look at me. My father's face burned a bright red and my mother's face was stained with tears.
