I jumped out of bed and ran outside, grabbing my keys and hopping into my car. I started the engine and took off, making sure I didn't forget anything.
I hummed softly to myself as I drove to Levi's house. I was now a senior in high school and Levi was in his third year of college. He took classes online so that he's still have time for Scout business.
We were officially going to war with the TITANs next year, which was just around the corner. I was super nervous and scared. Levi always assured me that I was strong and prepared, but I had my doubts.
I pulled out my key to Levi's house and unlocked it, walking in unannounced. Levi hates when I do this, but I thought it was adorable when he got mad. It was like being threatened by a two year old.
I sat down next to Levi on the couch as he drank some peppermint tea. I looked down at the table to see that there was already a cup waiting for me. This made me happy.
"I don't know why you're making such a big deal of today," Levi mumbled, taking another sip of his tea.
I drank mine as well, but set it down, squinting my eyes at Levi, "Levi Ackerman! It is Christmas and your birthday, your twenty-first birthday. It is a huge deal."
Levi just clicked his tongue and continued to drink. I was irritated. Levi hadn't even let me spend the night last night. I wanted to spend Christmas Eve with my boyfriend, but no, be told me that I'd be a bother. Fucking asshole.
Levi's gaze shifted over to me and he raised an eyebrow, "Oi, you okay, Kenzie? Something on your mind, babe?"
I looked at the carpeted floor which was as spotless as always, "Sometimes I feel like I'm a bother to you, that's all. Like your life would be easier if we weren't together."
"You are a bother and life would be easier," Levi nodded, "But I like having you in my life. You aren't terrible to be around. I enjoy your company, even if you're being a brat the whole time. I don't regret letting you into my life."
I blushed. Even though Levi called me an annoying brat and admitted that his life would be a whole lot easier without me around, he still wanted me around. He didn't regret me.
"I love you," I said softly.
Levi simply hummed in response and my gaze shifted back to the floor. Levi's never once told me that he loves me back. It was a little disheartening.
Levi flicked my forehead, "Oi, stop brooding. It's Christmas. You're supposed to be filled with holiday cheer or some shit. I thought you were here to celebrate with me."
I nodded and then got excited. I grabbed the giant wrapped box I had and set it on Levi's lap, "For you."
Levi looked at me, shocked, "You didn't have to, Kenzie. I'm not much of a present person."
I looked at Levi with a sad expression. Levi tensed at this and slowly unwrapped the box. He opened it and pulled out various presents such as cleaning supplies and teas.
"You had tea imported from different countries?" Levi asked, "That's so expensive, babe. You didn't have to do this."
I smiled at him, "I wanted to."
Levi kissed my forehead, "Thank you. I love it."
My breath caught in my throat and Levi looked at me skeptically before walking over to the Christmas tree and picking up a small box. He threw it at me and I caught it clumsily.
I smiled and examined the wrapping. Everything was so precise and perfect. You could really tell Levi wrapped it. The bow was perfectly in the center. I didn't want to open it.
