Sweet Dreams

I laid down in bed, pulling the covers and sheets over my head. I couldn't sleep. My thoughts were consumed with death.

Humans are like stars. Say one of us were to die tomorrow, most of the population wouldn't even know. There are over seven billion people in this world, and just like how one star amongst countless others can die unnoticed, so can we. We're all part of a bigger picture. Humans are insignificant. We have no purpose, just like the stars. We're just here.

Levi's words came rushing at me all at once. They got me thinking. How long will it take for people to realize if Eren, Mikasa, Armin, or any of my other friends died? How long would it take if Levi was the one to die?

I jumped out of bed and walked to Levi's house. Upon arriving, I decided to just open the door. Levi's house smelled... clean. It smelled like pine sol, bleach, and windex. I looked around for Levi until I saw him, slouched over at the dining room table.

"Levi," I shook him, "Hey, you okay?"

Levi's eyes met mine. They were cloudy and dead, "Kenzie? I don't remember inviting you over?"

I pulled Levi away from the table and onto the couch, "I invited myself."

"Spoiled brat," Levi teased, biting my earlobe, "What did you come over for?"

"I couldn't sleep," I replied.

"Want to sleep with me?" Levi asked.

My face was a bright scarlet, "Uhhh..."

Levi kissed me on the neck, "Don't worry. I'm not planning on doing anything dirty. I just want to make sure you get your rest."

I sighed, "Levi, have you been drinking?"

Levi nodded, "Only one though. Erwin bought it for me."

"Isn't that illegal?"

"Isn't killing even more illegal?"

"Oh, yeah. Point taken."

Levi got up, kissing my forehead, "I'm tired. I'm going to bed, so I don't think I'll be able to entertain you very well."

I stood up and wrapped an arm around Levi's, "I'll come too I guess."

Levi looked me up and down before asking, "Did you seriously walk all the way to my house in your pajamas?"

I looked down, seeing that he was right. I started blushing, "Yes. Got a problem with it, midget?"

Levi yawned, "Maybe. I'm too tired to explain to you why it's not okay to wear pajamas outside, so I'll just let it slide for now."

"Gee thanks," I rolled my eyes, "You're so good to me."

Levi picked me up bridal style and walked me to his room, "I know."

I stared at Levi's bed, my cheeks getting warmer, "Your bed is so..."

"Devoid of stuffed animals," Levi finished, "Yeah, I remember your bed. It was cluttered with them. I don't see how there was any room for you. You had a giant teddy bear too. You're like a toddler."

I huffed, "You're a big old grouch. Stuffed animals are for all ages. You don't get to judge me, Mr. Cleanfreak."

Levi pulled up the covers of his neatly made bed and climbed in, "I'm sorry if you have trouble sleeping without your toys. Next time bring one with you."

I climbed into bed and got on top of Levi, "I don't need a stuffed animal if I have you, Levi~"

Levi clicked his tongue, "Spoiled brat. Don't get all entitled."
