Amelia's POV
I've been enjoying my time here with Milo but him keeping secrets again made me anxious. Sure it wasn't a huge lie but he still could have told me, I could have atleast helped make it more convincing.
I didn't mention what Lannie told me. Maybe there was a good reason he didn't tell me, there has to be.
"You alright in there?" Milo asks through the door.
"Yeah I'll be out in a sec." I splash water on my face and pat it dry before walking out.
"I just got off the phone with my mom, the resort is gorgeous."
"Your mom!" I scrunch my face in confusion.
"Sorry I keep forgetting I haven't told you the full story yet, but my mom knows about us." He shrugs.
"When will you tell me the full story?"
"When we get to a certain place, I promise."
"Fine." I roll my eyes and continue packing my new clothes.
"What's wrong, you don't seem very excited?"
"I'm just starting to miss my mom and my friends."
"Am I not enough for you? You don't miss Krista though right?" He glares.
"Of course you're enough for me, I just have to get used to being away from them, even Krista."
"Get over it."
"I'm just saying, we were kids once it's normal to feel a little homesick." I try to reason with him.
"We'll never be those kids again."
"I'm not acting like I'm gonna leave you for them. Don't be an asshole right now."
"Whatever."
"Don't be mad." I reach for his hand but he yanks away.
"Hurry up and finish packing." He orders before slamming the door behind him.
///
"Wake up we've got a plane to catch." He shakes my shoulder.
I sit up and rub my eyes, watching him tug his shoes on before I slide out of the bed.
"I didn't mean to make you mad last night."
"I know."
"Then why are you still being so distant?"
"I'm not." He looks away from me.
I decide not to say anything else to him. I don't want to push him too far and have him blow up.
///
He holds my hand tightly as we walk through the people at the airport trying to find the right gate.
He leads me to one that has Italy on the screen above the entrance.
"We're going to Italy!" I look up at him with wide eyes.
"Mhm."
He walks up and hands the lady our tickets as my heart is pounding in my chest.
"I'm really excited now." I whisper as we take our seats.
"Good, I knew you'd like it." He kisses the back of my hand while I look out the window.
"I love you so much for this."
"I know." He chuckles.
