Harleen Quinzel starts her job as a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum this morning. I'm really excited about it, all of my life I've always wanted to help people and this is my chance to do it. To help people like the ones in Arkham go out and have the chance to live the rest of their life, not in a straight jacket in a cold metal room with a hard bed but with their families, ones, I hope, that they haven't already killed.I'm more excited today then I've been since Adam asked me out, which was 2 years ago, I have never been in a long term relationship like this before, I thought I never would, I never made any friends in school. But college happen and I met him and he was so sweet.
Anyway, I jump into to the shower, like literally jump, I take a nice room temperature shower.
I get out of the shower and put on my clothes like I'm running late but I'm not, work doesn't start until 8:30, it's probably because I'm so excited.
I put on a gray skirt that reaches to my knees, a black shirt, and a long white coat. I look in the mirror and put my hair in a ponytail. I say to myself, " I look professional enough." I chuckled.
I'm ready to leave so I go get my coffee, give Adam a kiss and say goodbye to him, which he replies with "Don't go psycho." I roll my eyes with a smile and get my keys and leave.
A few moments later I arrive at a rusty old gate that has Arkham Asylum written across it "Ew, creepy" I say a little freaked out, but I'm still very excited.
I reached the building which have two security guards standing on each side of the door, they look at me. "I'm Dr. Harleen Quinzel, I'm new here." I inform them, totally aware that they have never seen me before. They nod and let me by.
When I get inside, it's freezing."God what is it, like 3o degrees in here?" As I say that a doctor walks by me, I guess I was so into the layout and the details of the building I didn't notice I was around a bunch of people.
"Yeah I know, one of our patients were trying to escape and thought it was a good idea to go through the heat ventilation." As I listen in shock I ask her in a worried matter, "Are they okay?"
"Oh, of course they didn't make it far, we have alarms that go off when patients try to do stuff like."
I let out a big sigh in relief, "Okay thank god." She laughs.
"My names Dr. Wilson but you can just call me Lauren." She nicely introduces herself .
"Nice to meet you, my names Dr. Quinzel, but you can just call me Harleen, I'm new here" she laughs once again. "I know, Dr. Reynolds asked me to show you to your new office." I smile in excited, I get my own office, I get to decorate it, put nice smelling flowers, smell goods, oh my god. As I was thinking all of this, we had reached the, well my office.
I look at it and it's a nice size, it's not too bad, I can handle it.
"Yeah, its kind of small." She says thinking that I was disappointed with the size which was the exact opposite. "Oh no, it's fine I like it." I smile
She smiles back at me, "You are a cheery one, I think I'm gonna like you." I like her too she a very warm and amazing person. "I like you already myself." She smiles and turns to leave.
Before she does, "Oh, I forgot to mention, since Dr.Reynolds isn't here today he already gave you your patient for today." She looks at me with a nervous and concerned look on her face. As I look at the folder on my desk still confused as to why she looked at me like that. I figured it out and I was just as nervous and concerned as she was maybe even more.
