Nikki's Pov
I woke up to the loud noise of early morning traffic with warm arms wrapped around my waist. I turned over and saw the beautiful man that laid next to me. I ran my hand through his soft, silky, brunette hair, enjoying the view and time that we had together. After a while, I stopped and began playing on my phone for a while until it was 8:30. I decided to wake him up to get ready for a photoshoot later.
"Mikey...Mikey wake up." I said while shaking him. He opened his eyes and rubbed them like a little cat,
"Good morning." He kissed my cheek and looked over at the clock,
"Good morning," I decided to lay on him for a while until I realized what time it was,
"We need to get upto get the costumes ready for later," He nodded and sat up but suddenly hugged me from my waist and kissed my shoulder before going to the bathroom.
Even Aafter two years of dating--most being a couple months of breaking up and about a year of being on and off. The same old butterflies still flew around me. It's crazy to think that we went from highschool sweethearts to business partners.
Without much thought I sprang up and began to get ready.
After Mikey and I got ready, we ate some cereal on the couch.
"Nikki," he called out,
"Yeah" I looked up and him walking up, keys in hand,
"Chance texted me earlier, and he said that he needed me at the company early for the wedding shoots later." He sighed and ran his hand through his moussed hair.
Chance was the founder of our company, Perez Photoshop Inc. The company was handed down to him when his father fell ill in junior high. We were still kids looking up at him like an older brother who protected us, and in return gave us all a home; a company now called The Brooklyn Bizarre.
"It must be important, you should go then" I stood up and smiled at him as I put my dishes in the sink.
"Okay,I'll see you later." He kissed my head and quickly left. It was usual for our time together to be cut short. If only we weren't so busy with our jobs then maybe we would have more time to sort out whatever we are, but it is what it is.
I heard my door knock and got up to open the door. It was Bloom, another one of our friends and a co-worker who lives on this floor. He was a tall, well kept country man as well as a sweet ball of sunshine.
"Hey what's up." I asked as I let him come into the living room,
"I need help," he paced back and forth with haste as he slightly tugged at his hair, holding a rather worried expression,
"With what?" I asked as I sat down in front him.
"Chance picked me to be the groom at the wedding shoot," he paused and anxiously rubbed his hands over his face.
"And? Isn't that a good thing, more commission?" I chuckled at him since usually any of us were excited to get extra money.
"The girl playing my 'fiancé' is my ex,"
"Which ex?" He's had a few, most of them ended nicely, but a couple were a bit suspect,
"Mandy," Oh, her. She was definitely the suspect ones, more on the doozy. She was a nice person over all, but she had a bad habit of getting drunk and hooking up with random guys. Which we all found out afterwards.
"Well it's been... What, 6 months. So I'm sure that both of you have moved on, right?" The problem is, he's a bit of a hopeless romantic. It took him the whole rest of middle school to get over his one week "girlfriend".
