Chapter 36

So this takes place the night Lily gets proposed too but from Ravennas pov. This chapter gives some insight into the past of when they were first friends.

Ravenna's pov

I knew about everything. Lily was especially excited when she got back to house tonight. Leo came to us all to explain his idea and ask for permission. They are both in love and anyone could tell especially after Lily was in a coma. Life was to short and to precious to let it go by. Now I was worried though. I was late. Not for a meeting but for my period. I was sure it was normal but lately it was a little hard to tell especially after throwing up this morning. I haven't told anyone just in case it was a false alarm but I was scared. What if I was pregnant? I wasn't ready to be a mother. I am only 19 almost 20.  I just can't not yet.

"Hey Raven. What are you thinking about?" Ash asked before kissing my shoulder.

"Nothing just what theme for Lil's wedding. Nothing big." I said softly.

"Haha nice try but I know you weren't thinking about that. Lil has had her wedding planned since she was a little girl. So what what were you really thinking about?"

"Our lives and how its all changed since we met you and now our best friends are engaged." I said turning to look at him.

"One day we'll be married and have kids too. We aren't far behind." He said gently but I stiffened at the word kids. He wants them badly but I don't. I wasn't ready.

"But not right now right?" I asked gently.

"Not if you don't want too." He said kissing me on the forehead. I hugged him gently. How did I ever get so lucky as to have him as a mate.

"How did I get so lucky?" I asked him. He picked me up and carried me to our room.

"I ask myself that question everyday. I am the luckiest man alive to have you even talk to me." He said before laying me on our bed. I start to tear up slightly at his words. I kiss him with love and passion. It was clear that we both love each other but it was hard at first to trust one another. I mean I did turn him down for Lil when we first met and no one knows truly why I am so protective of her. Almost more protective then her family. He kissed me back with the same amount of love and passion as he hovers over me. I pull away with a smile but he wasn't done yet. He starts to kiss down my neck. I moan softly once he reaches my mark. I was marked a year before Lily but then again he was my true mate. Lil and Leo were in love but were never mates. I guess love is love right. He stops kissing my neck before pecking me on the lips and laying next to me.

"Raven why is it Lil is so protected by her family. We don't know much of her story." He asked suddenly. I got up and went to our closet.

"Something terrible happened to Lil when she was a little girl. It was a little over a few months after I met her. Summer was around the corner." I paused to put on an oversized t-shirt before going back over to our bed.

"What happened?" He asked very curiously.

"It was our last day of school and we decided to walk to my house for some after school fun to start off our summer. Sadly we were just little girls. We didn't know much in the way of protecting ourselves. I knew some fighting methods but not to beat them. They grabbed us and dragged us into and ally. They were a little bit older then high school boys. I tried to fight them but stopped when I saw him holding little Lil with a knife to her throat. The other guy pinned me to the wall and made me watch what they did to Lil first. They were things no child should have gone through. They never fully raped her. Not before my parents showed up and killed them both since they were still getting used to not being rogues. Lil was crying and I went over to her and just held her. I knew from that day on I had to protect her because that day I couldn't and I used to always think about what if my parents hadn't come. It was my fault that happened and I did my best to protect her after that." I said crying. He held me close.

"Ravenna what happened that day was not your fault. It was those sick bastards who did that. They deserved to die. Lil is lucky to have you as a friend. Although Ravenna I think its time you take a break from protecting others and be a little selfish. I understand that you feel you need to but now we have more people. Hell she is our beta female because you helped her fight. Retire a little now." He said softly. I looked at him and shock. I wanted to be mad at his words but I wasn't because it was true. Lil was not that little girl anymore. She was a strong woman who was getting married. I needed to relax a little bit more.

"Your right. I am gonna have to trust that she can take care of herself." I said with a shaky voice.

"Come on love. Lets get to bed." He said kissing me on the head softly. I lay down next to him and he pulls me close to him.

"Goodnight Ash." I whispered.

"Goodnight my little raven." He said before the world around me faded into black.

Time Skip: Next Morning

Lily's pov

I wake up with Leo's arm around me. I smile as I remember last night. He proposed! He was my fianceé. I remove his arm from me gently before getting up to use the restroom. Once I finish up in there I head downstairs to make some breakfast for the both of us. As I started gathering things for breakfast steak and eggs there was a pounding at the door. Who the hell would be knocking this early? I look at the clock to see it was 10 in the morning so it wasn't exactly early.  I open the door gently only to be pushed to the wall beside it. I saw a raging mad Damien. Oh shit.

"Damien what the hell are you doing here?"

"I came to fight Leo. I am not letting go without a fight." He said angrily. Oh double shit.
