Chapter 2

Daniel had aced the test, and Jay was really proud of him. He knew better than anyone how much studying Daniel had put in (and Daniel needed every minute of it, lol).

And now that same beautiful airhead was standing in front of him as he ate his lunch in corner of the room.

"Jay. Thank you so much! I know I would have failed if you hadn't helped me. Sorry for being such a bother."

Jay shook his head. It wasn't a bother, he thought to himself. I enjoyed it.

Suddenly Daniel broke into a smile. "Really? You didn't think I was a bother?"

I like spending time with you.

"I'm happy when we spend time together too!"

Wow. Jay was, as usual, stunned by Daniel's apparent telepathy. Just as an experiment... he peeked at Daniel out of the corner of his eye and let one phrase run through his head: Hey Daniel, I love you.

Daniel continued his innocent smile, completely unaware.

Damn.

Daniel's face faltered. "You seem upset. I knew it, I must be bothering you too much... Let me make it up to you. I don't have much money, but if there's anything I can do please tell me."

Jay sighed. The entire last few weeks had been so positive, he wasn't sure how make Daniel understand.

But then an idea slowly burrowed through from his subconscious to his thinking mind. He grabbed a piece of paper and wrote:" If I put you through exactly the same amount of trouble, we'll be even, right?"

Daniel nodded.

Satisfied, Jay leaned back in his desk and started dreaming up his slightly devious plan.
