Harry looked up at the face smiling down at him. He hadn’t changed one bit from the day they’d met. His mind was flooded with thoughts of that day at the park. The first day the two had met, when they had been introduced to each other by their fathers.

Harry was extremely nervous. Anne was driving him downtown. Today was the day he was auditioning. He hadn’t told anyone. Well anyone except his mom. Someone had to drive him downtown. He was only 15.

“Harry? Are you okay?” Anne looked at Harry curiously.

“I’m fine. Just nerves.” Harry looked out the window at the cars whizzing by.

Anne didn’t question him anymore. Harry was listening to his iPod. He wanted to make sure he had all the words down. It would extremely embarrassing to mess up the words to the song and have that on broadcasted on television.

Anne pulled into a parking garage near the arena, and looked over at her son. He wasn’t paying any attention. He was singing away. She smiled and nudged him; he looked up and saw they were there. He hopped out of the car and walked with his mother towards the building. Harry opened up the door for his mother and followed her to the tables at the front.

“Who’s auditioning?” A man with an X Factor t-shirt on asked duly.

“Harry Styles. Age 15.” Anne told the man, who looked up at her and glanced to the boy to her left.

“Okay. Here’s your number. If you can go over to that room,” The guy pointed to a huge room with hundreds of chairs lined up against the wall, “and just wait for your number to be called.”

Harry followed his mother to the waiting area. He scanned the room looking at all the people practicing. The young boy looked down at his iPod; he was regretting his song choice. It was too late to change it now though. He sighed and unplugged his head phones, “Mom? I’ll be right back I need to go to the bathroom.”

Getting up from his seat he walked towards the nearest restroom, humming to himself. Out of the corner of his eye he saw something move. In a flash he was in a bone crushing hug. Harry was about to scream when something interrupted his thoughts.

“HAZ! What are you doing here? I thought you didn’t want to audition.” Louis held the boy back at arm’s length, giving him a questioning look.

“I don’t know. You said I should try it… so I guess… I wanted to?” Harry looked down at his feet.

“It’s okay. At least you’re here trying.” Louis told him, bringing him back into his arms.

“Wait. Why are you here? You never mentioned you wanted to try out for this.” Harry inquired.

“You never asked.” Louis reached up and ruffled Harry’s curls. The younger boy swatted his hand away.

“Well are you here by yourself?” Harry started walking towards the bathroom, pulling Louis along with him.

“Yeah. I came alone. No one knows.” Harry nodded, understanding why he didn’t want to tell anyone.

            “Harry?”

            “Yeah Lou?”

“Where are we going?” Louis looked around him, noticing they weren’t in the room anymore.
