Harry looked up at the face smiling down at him. He hadn’t changed one bit from the day they’d met. His mind was flooded with thoughts of that day at the park. The first day the two had met, when they had been introduced to each other by their fathers.
Chapter 3
Harry’s eyes snapped open and he quickly pulled his face away from Louis’ to see where the noise had come from. Lottie was standing in the kitchen, looking at the two boys with a smug look on her face.
“So? You two having fun?” Lottie giggled at her own joke.
Louis turned around to face his sister, “Lottie? What are you doing home so early?”
“Don’t change the subject Louis. How are you and your boyfriend doing?” Lottie laughed again.
“I’m not Louis’ boyfriend!” Harry objected, both heads turned and looked at him.
“Sure you aren’t” Lottie mumbled sarcastically.
Lottie grabbed something out of the fridge and walked out of the kitchen, pleased with what she had seen. She had always known that the two boys weren’t just friends. Anyone could see it. It also didn’t help their case that they still slept together when they had their ‘sleepovers’. Lottie laughed and thought to herself, “Normal teenage guys don’t have sleepovers.”
—
Harry looked across the table to Louis once Lottie had left the room, panic written all over his face. He didn’t know what to do; he didn’t know what to say to Louis. He just sat their stunned, until Louis brought him out of his trance, “She was just kidding Harry. She didn’t mean any of that. She’s a stupid girl.”
“Oh… Okay. I guess you’re right.” Harry nodded. He felt sick to his stomach.
“Are you okay? Do you need to lie down?” Louis got up from his chair and walked over to Harry, placing a hand on his forehead. “You don’t have a fever.”
“I’m fine Louis; just a little tired is all.” Harry looked down at his lap. He sighed and stood up, picked up his plate and walked towards the sink. The dishes weren’t going to clean themselves.
“Go lay down on my bed. I can tell you’re not feeling good. I’ll clean up this mess.” Louis pushed Harry out of the kitchen.
—
After Louis finished cleaning up the mess that both boys had made, he decided he needed to have a chat with a certain sister of his. Louis peered into her bedroom, but there was no sign of her there. He opened his door to check on Harry, just to make sure he was okay. The young boy was fast asleep, sprawled all over the bed. Louis carefully shut the door, not wanting to wake him up. After searching for a while, Louis found Lottie in their living room.
“Just the girl I wanted to talk to.” Louis said as he sat down on the couch next to Lottie.
“I didn’t do anything!” Lottie pleaded.
“Of course not Lottie. Of course not,” Louis rolled his eyes and continued, “You just scared the hell out of Harry and now he’s not feeling well. And I was thinking you should apologize when he wakes up.”
“Apologize? For catching you two swapping spit?” Lottie looked at Louis like he had grown a third eye.
“Well when you put it that way… It does sound weird. How about you just don’t mention it to anyone and we’ll call it a deal?” Louis pleaded with his little sister.
“Ah. So you don’t want anyone to know that you two are together? I totally understand!” Lottie giggled to herself.
“We’re not together… I doubt we ever will. I don’t think Harry’s like me.” Louis got up from the couch, it was late and he was tired.
If he hadn’t left so quickly he may have heard Lottie whisper, “That’s what you think…”
—-
Louis walked into his room and quietly stripped down, climbing into bed with Harry. Like every time when they slept together, Louis wrapped his arm around Harry’s torso and pulled him close. Louis felt braver than normal tonight, he wanted to try something. He lifted up his head and gently pressed his lips against Harry’s.
“Goodnight Haz.” Louis whispered.
Louis didn’t hear Harry’s reply, “Goodnight Louis.”

The next few Months passed by with ease. High school life wasn’t too hard on the boys. They enjoyed hanging out together at school. They even had a handful of classes together, which were enjoyable for them, but the exact opposite for the teacher.
Before they knew it, it was the beginning of May, and school was coming to an end for the boys. They were excited to spend the summer together, just hanging out and having nothing to do. It was going to be a blast.
One afternoon, Louis was driving them home from school when an ad came on the radio, announcing that the X Factor would be holding auditions in downtown Minneapolis in two weeks. On a Friday. Louis listened carefully to the whole add before nudging Harry, who looked up at him.
“You should try out for that Haz. You’re a really good singer I have no doubt that you would make it.”
“I’m not that good. I wouldn’t make it. I’m just average at best.” Harry told the boy sitting next to him.
“It’s whatever you want to do. I fully support you either way. But just so you know, I would never lie to you. You would make it far in that competition.”
“Thanks Louis. Could you drop me off at my house? Mom wants me to clean up some before she gets home.” Harry said glumly.
“Do you need any help?” Louis inquired.
“No. It’s fine. I know you have a lot of homework to do.” Harry grabbed his back when Louis pulled into the driveway, “Thanks for the ride Lou.”
“Anytime buddy.” Louis winked at his friend.
Harry opened the garage door once he knew Louis was out of sight. He may have told a white lie, just a tiny one. His mom was home. He just wanted some alone time with her. He had a few questions for her. Important questions.
Harry set down his backpack in his room before walking into the kitchen and finding his mother cooking something that smelled delicious.
“Hey Mom? I was wondering? What do you think of the idea of me trying out for the X Factor?” Harry proposed.
A/N: Louis is not out of the closet!! Just letting you know! =)
