Harry looked up at the face smiling down at him. He hadn’t changed one bit from the day they’d met. His mind was flooded with thoughts of that day at the park. The first day the two had met, when they had been introduced to each other by their fathers.

A/N: The boys are 7 years older in this chapter. Just a heads up! Harry’s a freshman and Louis is a Junior. Enjoy!

Chapter 2

It was Harry’s first day of High School. He was back at the bottom of the food chain, no longer the most popular guy there. He was a freshman, or as some seniors liked to call them, freshmeat. Harry was extremely nervous, not knowing what to expect at this new place. He didn’t know how people would treat him, how the teachers were, or even how much homework he would have. But all that worry disappeared when he walked out his front door towards the car in his driveway, the person in the front seat giving him a lopsided grin.

Harry placed his backpack in the backseat and when he turned around to open his door Louis was standing there with it open. He winked at Harry and shut it when he got in, “Where to sir?” Louis joked.

“I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me?” Harry said as he messed around with the dial trying to find a good radio station.

“I’ll surprise you then!”  Louis stated, as he put the car in reverse.

Harry nodded absent mindedly, and stopped on one of his favorite stations. He pulled out his phone and texted his mother. Letting her know that Louis had picked him up and they were on their way to the hell hole. She was always worrying about him. Not paying attention to what he was doing Harry started to sing along with the radio.

-Okay, so you’re a rocket scientist

That don’t impress me much

So you got the brain but have you got the touch

Don’t get me wrong, yeah I think you’re alright

But that won’t keep me warm in the middle of the night

That don’t impress me much-

“So, Styles, did you sign up for Choir?” Louis looked over at the boy in the passenger seat.

“Yeah. I hope I don’t get kicked out the first day though. I’m not a very good singer.” Harry claimed, and looked down at his lap.

“Don’t even think that Haz! You’re an amazing singer, and we both know it!” As Louis finished, they pulled into the school parking lot.

“Thanks Louis,” Harry told the older boy as he grabbed his backpack from the back and added, “So. What pranks are the seniors going to do the freshman today?”

“I have no clue. Just stick with me they won’t bother you. If they see you hanging out with me, they won’t touch you.” Louis smiled proudly. Harry gave Louis a questioning look but didn’t respond.

During his first hour Harry was called to the office, he didn’t know how he could’ve been in trouble this early on the first day. He sighed and pushed the glass door open; a sign beside it said house office. He walked up to the secretary, and signed the clip board before announcing his presence.

“Uh. Hi? I was called down here. I’m Harry Styles.”

“Oh! Yes. Let’s see here… well here you go. They changed your schedule up a bit. One of the teachers had made a mistake. Let’s see you should be going to choir now instead.” She looked down at her computer and messed around with something before speaking again, “Just let all your teachers know that you just got your schedule changed today.” She handed him his new schedule and turned back to her computer.
