Troy wanted nothing more than to turn back time, only, he wasn't sure how much further in time he wanted to go.  The questions kept gnawing at his mind.

If only he hadn't let Harriet get close to Sharlene.

If only he hadn't fallen in love with Harriet.

If only he had broken up with her and told her the truth in five days, like was planned.

If only he hadn't dated Harriet just because of a dare.

If only he hadn't picked dare.

If only he hadn't played the cursed game at Sharlene's party last summer.

Harriet would still be with him. In his arms. Wearing that stupid blue jumper that she loved to death. Swimming backstroke in his pool at midnight. Looking flawless without any make up, in her round harry potter glasses that framed her face so perfectly he could take a picture and hang it in his dining hall.

If only he hadn't been such a dick his entire life. In that moment, Troy hated Elliot, his bestfriend and the greatest playboy in the history of playboys for turning him into an exact replica of himself. He hated Sharlene, Elliot's current girlfriend and one of his 'bestfriends', for being such a bitch to Harriet. His little Harry.

A year ago Troy would never have gone out with someone like Harriet. He would have gone out with girls like Sharlene. A-crowd bitches, as Harriet called them. That was his world. Elliot. Sharlene. Laurel. Brandon. Loud-ass parties. and a whole chain of slutty girls who looked more plastic than humans but that was what he liked, before Harriet. And now she was gone. and now he was finding it hard to breathe in his own world.

There was only one place he could go to now, one person who would always take him back. One guy who he loved and hated so much it made his heart burst and his blood boil, but that was life, in the end, you go back to where you belong, whatever happened in the middle, was just a mid summer nights dream.

He sighed and dialed a number. "Costume party at my place tonight, spread the word!" He swore he could feel Elliot's grin reach from one ear to another on the other end of the phone.
