It took that one question to make me realize just how hungry I was, and my stomach grumbled in agreement. The only thing I could hope for was that Harry and I agreed on something delicious quick. I wasn’t really a high maintenance girl and would simply be happy with fries and a burger.
“I never got your name. A lovely girl such as you ought to have something unique and beautiful, it would only be fit.” As someone naturally tan, it was almost impossible for me to blush. But as those words left his pink lips and he kept eye contact with me, I could only tell he was being truthful, so naturally, my face felt red as a tomato. The temperature in the van felt to increase tenfold as I recovered from his compliment. Sure, I didn’t think I was ugly but I thought my look to be anything but unique. Long, pin straight dark brown hair down to my bum that was rarely ever styled. Dark brown eyes, normal nose and lips along with my tiny body weren’t anything for guys to fawn over, although I would sometimes still receive attention. I was rarely told I was pretty though, only from family members during the holidays.
“Camilla Monroe.” I managed to sputter out. My voice came out as a slight squeak. Come on Camilla, don’t be such a dweeb just cause he’s cute. “Thank you by the way. So what are we going to eat? You better decide fast or else grumpy Camilla will surface and you’ll have to run for your life.” He had a sweet laugh, so I loved taking any chance I could get to hear it again. Just as I had hoped, the beautiful chuckle and grin I had already grown to love in less than an hour filled the van, which resulted in a few butterflies tickling my insides.
“I’m sure I could manage to survive your grumpy wrath, I too can be quite a handful when hungry. We could go wherever you’d like love. I do know of a few small eateries in the area that aren’t over-crowded and won’t attract fans. I use them as my getaway when I just want to enjoy a quick meal, I’m sure you’d love them.” I couldn’t help but be somewhat in awe of him as he spoke. His perfect accent and the way he spoke were enough to draw in my attention no matter where we were.
“I can be a bit picky but I’m always for trying new things so sure! One question though- do they have French fries? I can always appreciate a place with amazing fries.” I don’t know why he seemed to be amused by anything I said but he smiled and nodded just as we pulled up to the small café-looking place.
-Harry POV-
There was something about this girl. Not to be cheesy or typical, but I could tell she was just…different. Usually when a girl meets me, she screams, asks too many personal questions, and even jumps all over me. She seemed taken aback by my presence at first, but she composed herself quick and treated me like any other person you meet out in public. She was sweet, a bit shy, quite funny, and absolutely beautiful. When she agreed to join me in my car, I felt excited. I wanted to get to know her, ask what she was doing before stumbling upon me today, what she liked to do, her favorite food, about her family. Just everything. Sure we just met and it was odd for me to take a liking in these types of things so fast, but there was something so intriguing about her that drew me in. I think it was her shyness and how oblivious she is to her alluring presence.
It made me think back to what occurred just an hour ago. Since I have two months to myself before we start tour, I wanted to spend about a week or so in California. It was one of my favorite places to visit and I wanted to spend the day shopping around alone, seeing where my feet take me. I ended up on a random LA street full of small shops, restaurants, typical California type of things. I thought I did a good job of avoiding the paparazzi but the mental high five I was about to give myself was immediately shot down. It first came in screams then rapid footsteps began to approach. Here it comes. I gripped my shopping bags and my brown boots began to walk with a faster pace as I amped up my stride. I passed by a small boutique and for whatever reason; I shot a quick glance inside through the big front window. My eyes immediately drew towards a petite figure standing in front of a rack, near the window.
