Now that Harry was gone, I felt like I could breathe a bit. I was able to devote all of my attention to more important tasks and not dwell over what has happened these past twenty-four hours. Nonetheless, he was still on my mind no matter how many times I tried to block him out. For hardly knowing him, he sure knew how to stick to my brain.
Clad in only an over-sized knit sweater, leggings, knee high socks and a pair of black boots, I began my short trek to campus. It was a fairly breezy day so I thought it’d be a nice walk to school rather than driving. I had some time to spare before my music class this morning, so there was no rush. My mind wandered to my upcoming quiz this afternoon and all the studying I had to do when I got home. My thoughts were soon blown away with the wind when I was startled by a figure that stepped out of the shadows from behind a tree as I passed a park. I’m always on edge and paranoid when it comes to walking by myself when walking in public, no matter how safe a place is said to be. To say I was frightened as the figure slowly walked towards me was an understatement. I knew this was a bad idea.
I placed my headphones in my ears and looked down at the ground, as if the cement suddenly sparked my interest. Maybe I’m just being over paranoid, I thought to myself just as this person knocked shoulders with me. Not too roughly, but just enough to know that they purposely were trying to get my attention.
“Excuse me there miss, almost didn’t see you there.” Their creepy voice purred at me. I inwardly cringed as I turned my gaze up to their face. He was an older man, about mid thirties. He smelt of cigarettes and wore all black, worn-looking clothing. He smirked at me and I turned away in disgust to make my way back to the direction I was walking. “Wait, wait! You’re not going to tell me your name? I’m sure a girl pretty enough to hang out with Harry Styles should have a beautiful name?” What?
“Excuse me?” I said with a bit of annoyance. How did this man know that I knew Harry or even hung out with him? It was one night. I awaited his answer as he took two steps towards me, which I reciprocated with two steps backward.
“Come on, your pictures together walking around yesterday are everywhere. Even when you guys took that cute little lunch together. I’m just doing my job and trying to get a name of his new pretty girlfriend, you know how it is. How is Harry, by the way? How did you two meet?” He questioned and turned his head to listen closely. I rolled my eyes at the last part of his sentence. This creepy prick was obviously from some stupid tabloid magazine and I wasn’t about to feed into his lame job.
“None of that is any of your business, and neither is who I am. So you can fuck off now.” I placed my headphones back in my ears and was about to press play when I heard him end with, “Okay sweetheart. Let’s do it the hard way then, I’ll be seeing you around.” He chuckled and disappeared back into the shadows of the eerie park. I wasn’t sure if I should brush it off or not, but I picked up my pace to get away as quickly as possible and to make it to class on time. Now I was late.
Luckily I was able to make it to class on time. I did fairly well on my tests for not being able to study the night before or this morning. I was also a bit distracted. After my encounter with that man who had plans to revisit on top of my troubling thoughts about Harry, I felt like a mess. I felt extra paranoid throughout the day. Anywhere I went, I peeked over my shoulder or jumped at the slightest movements made around me. It was finally the end of the day and I was ready to curl up in bed and forget about this long Monday.
As soon as I walked into my apartment though, I was bombarded with an endless amount of questions. When I arrived in the morning, I was fortunate enough to have gotten there just as Sophia had left for school, so I didn’t have to go through the whole third-degree with her like she was my mom. I planned to go straight to my room in hopes of no one spotting me but was abruptly put to a stop as Sophia jumped in front of my path. “Where have you been missy?! You haven’t returned any of my texts nor came home last night!” She scolded.
I pressed my fingertips to my temples and tried to nudge her out of my way to make it up the stairs. “Oh no you don’t! Spill! Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been?”
“I know, I know! I’m sorry okay! I stayed at a friend’s house last night and just had a really long day right now, can we talk later? I promise. I’m exhausted and need a nap.” I pleaded toward her with my best set of puppy eyes. She huffed and excused me to go. Thank the lawd, hallelujah.
-Harry POV-
After dropping of Camilla, I had no idea what to do with my day. I’ve already watched two cheesy romantic comedies on Netflix and I was getting restless. I felt so bored without her here. Not that she even liked to make her presence super noticeable, but just knowing she was here, was enough for me. Her smile was enough just to make my day.
When we departed this morning, she gave me a glimmer of a smile and her tiny blush gave me a spark of excitement. I had to figure out how to see her soon. This honestly wasn’t like me to get attached to a girl. Especially when I haven’t even done anything with her sexually. She was intriguing, despite how she kept quiet. I want to break down her walls and bring her out of her shell, I know there’s so much more personality in there that she’s holding back.
The party! How could I have forgotten? I basically invited myself and she seemed to agree to let me tag along with her. I had no idea who was throwing it or where it was, but I made it my mission to go. Camilla mentioned it was neon themed, so I had to get something to wear. I wasn’t getting anything done being cooped up in this mansion, so I grabbed my car keys and headed out. When I stepped outside house, I looked down at my foot when I heard a crinkling noise. It was an envelope with a letter inside. That’s odd, my mailbox is at the end of my driveway. I shrugged and opened it anyway.
“Your little girlfriend has quite the sassy mouth on her. Hate to see something happen. Keep an eye out.” Chills ran all over my body and all I could think of was getting to Camilla as soon as possible. She was put into danger because of me and I wasn’t about to let anything happen to her on my watch.
I zoomed onto the highway and sped 20 miles per hour over the speed limit. My hands gripped the wheel as I maneuvered around slow vehicles to maintain my fast speed. Hopefully no cops were around, I didn’t have time to explain why I was in such a hurry.
Finally my exit came up as I approached closer and closer to her apartment. Since she came across some creep, I hoped she wasn’t hurt or even scared out of her mind. She knows how to handle herself but you just never know. My car skidded along the sidewalk and my car came to a stop, just as I saw Zayn walking up the steps to her door. Zayn? What’s he doing here?
I sunk down into my seat to watch without being spotted. The door opened to reveal Camilla smiling at him, opening her arms to give him a hug, and let him in. I bowed my head and sighed as I shifted my car into gear and drove off.
