-Camilla POV-

I had only drifted off for a mere hour when my phone began buzzing on my nightstand. What now?! I covered my head with a pillow to drown it out but the powerful buzz was easily heard through the thick material. I gave in and slid my thumb across the screen to answer the call. This better be good.

“Hello?” I sharply answered. I was in no mood to speak to anybody, no matter the circumstance. It brought me to wonder why I didn’t reject the call in the first place.

“Sorry love, am I interrupting something?” Oh crap, Zayn. I felt bad, but anyone who wakes me up from a much-needed nap deserves to have his or her eyes gouged out.

“Oh my gosh, I’m sorry Zayn. I was sleeping and didn’t realize you were calling. I’m a bit grumpy, it was a long day.” I sounded absolutely exhausted as a yawn escaped my mouth. “S’okay Cam, how bout I go on over and make it better?” His new nickname caught me off guard, but the fact that he wanted to come over was appalling. My room was a mess and I was in no shape to have a visit. I didn’t have to look in a mirror to tell my hair was a rat’s nest. Real attractive, Camilla.

I wasn’t very good at turning down anybody so my next statement wasn’t a surprise. “Oh cool, that’d be fun. I’ll text you my address and you could head on over. Gimme about an hour.” I jumped out of bed and began organizing random items throughout the small space. I’m usually more organized but I haven’t been around lately. “See you soon, Cam.” No one has ever called me Cam besides my mom, and I wasn’t sure if I liked Zayn to use it. Although it did sound lovely coming from him.

I ran downstairs and into the living room to fill in Sophia real quick so she wouldn’t be so confused when a famous pop singer walks through the front door in less than an hour. She was perched on the couch reading a novel when I entered. I snatched the book from her grasp as she shouted a hey, and kicked me in the thigh.

“So I only have a limited amount of time to fill you in before a friend stops by, so save the questions for last.” I rushed as I combed my fingers through my hair.

“Alright so you know how you invited me to that stupid party? I was out shopping downtown and ran into none other than Harry Styles. Yes yes I know, exciting but let me finish. I was knocked over when he was being mobbed so he being the lovely savior that he is, helped me. He treated me to lunch, bought me a phone, and even let me stay at his house cause I was so exhausted. Long story short, I’m now friends with one direction and Zayn is on his way over. Okay gotta go shower, bye!” I turned to run back up the stairs but she took hold of my face between her hands as she shouted, “WHAT!”

She ran past me up the stairs to her room probably to get all dressed up. This should be interesting; she’s very entertaining when desperate. As I chuckled to myself, I suddenly remembered that I had to shower and clean still. I rushed my shower just so I would have enough time to pick up around the apartment. As I put the last book back in place and neatly stacked some magazines, the doorbell rang.

I peered out the peephole until my eyes landed on the inhuman god right before me. He wore an almost see through quarter-sleeve white shirt, dark blue jeans which were neatly tucked into black boots, and a finally, a beanie adorned his perfect little head. I adjusted my hair and top, and yanked the door open. I put on my best smile although I wasn’t really in the mood. I pulled Zayn in for a hug when I caught sight of a familiar black vehicle across the street. Harry?  After I urged Zayn to come inside, the car sped off into the horizon and I was left baffled as I shut the door behind me.

The day spent with Zayn was not very eventful. I was too drained to try and entertain him, and luckily he understood enough and decided to be lazy with me. We watched cheesy movies, ate junk food, and just talked nonsense the whole time. You’d figure after hanging out with a guy for so long that feelings would surface, but with him, it felt more like a best friend/brother type of relationship. Did I just friendzone Zayn Malik? Cue the thousands of girls wanting to beat my brains out for that.

All the while, in the back of my mind, the face of a charming, green-eyed, curly haired boy kept popping up. I kept thinking of how this lazy day would be spent if he were here instead: what’d we talk about, watch, and eat. I missed him and his quirkiness, and I longed to hear his laugh. I decided that after Zayn left, I’d give him a call and ask how he’s doing.

I was beginning to doze off when I felt a poke in my side. “I should get going love, you’re beginning to snore and drool all over my favorite sweater.” Zayn chuckled as I swatted at his arm. I wiped the side of my mouth with my arm just in case he was telling the truth. I stretched out my body and sat up to walk him outside. I’m such a gentleman.

“Sorry, I could be a bit boring. I had a long day and didn’t feel like doing much.” I sighed as I opened my front door and stepped out onto the porch with him. I hate being a terrible host. I rarely have people over and the one time I do, I look like I just rolled around in the street.

“S’okay Cam. I’d have a great time with you regardless of what we do.” I felt my insides heat up with embarrassment as I looked at my feet and smiled. I went in to hug him when he caught my lips in his.

They were soft and gentle as he pulled me in tighter. I felt no emotion within me though. Sure, it was a lovely kiss, but I was hoping to feel more fire beneath it. Harry was firm and in control, while Zayn was gentle, too gentle. Call me weird, but I have standards for a great kiss.

We finally pulled away and I watched his eyes open in bliss. I felt a pang in my chest when I realized he enjoyed the kiss much more than I did. I hated rejecting people, I know the feeling. So being the cause of it isn’t something I’m comfortable with. I don’t have the guts to break it to him right now, especially since he’s so happy.

“Have a goodnight Zayn, get home safely.” Was the only sentence I managed to get out without trying to lead him on. I could tell he was expecting more out of me since his eyes showed a small ounce of hurt.

“Goodnight Cam, see you.” A small rustling of bushes caught my attention as he drove off. Hmmm, must be a cat. I turned away and headed up to the warm confines of my cloud bed.

Boring slow chapter but i've been busy and wanted to at least give a small update. :)
