This isn't the place that was once known.
A vibrant color, replaced by a dark dull color. Blood stains the smell of the city. Howling winds blew past dull abandoned houses. Leaves rustled on the paved ground.
A man sat on an abandoned bench in front of a shop. He had white glowing hair, with ocean blue eyes that scanned the surroundings. He was wearing a dark blue coat, with a golden skull gleaming in front of his coat plus a black vest and black pants. His combat boots punched through the ground, demanding the leaves attention.
An eerie shriek filled the air.
The man stood up and took in the coppery smell of blood. He brushed his hair to the side and started walking. Abandoned houses and shops passed his vision. The wind blowing on his face, caressing his thoughts with a single swift of the cold.
He hated the place already.
This is a state of zombies. Everyone plagued by a mysterious illness. Everyone gone into a bloodbath, turning them into zombies. He had terrible nightmares ever since his parents got bitten by a zombie. Now he didn't even know whether they were still killing others, or they died by the hit of the protestants.
He saw a girl with a a red hood and a white dress walking towards the zombies enthusiastically. Her cape flew behind her, like a lone flag.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing right now.
The zombies noticed her and then started to crawl towards her. Their mouths forming a drool of black saliva. Their hands outstretched to her. Opening their mouth to show their black deformed teeth.
He shouted, " BEHIND YOU! "
Then something glinted from the sky and sliced the zombie into half with a loud thud, with blood flying. It was a death scythe. She grabbed the handle and swung at the zombies, hacking them until they were in pieces.
He wondered where she got the scythe. Falling from the sky was something he didn't see before.
" You said the zombie was behind me? " the girl said, without turning her head.
Suddenly his vision turned green-blue. He looked at the girl and saw black and pink wisps slithering out of her.
Aphrodite and Hades? he wondered. A demigod with this combination sounds wrong. But his eyes told him the truth.
The girl turned to him and he could feel the gaze of her cool purple eyes settled on him.
" Open your mouth. I can't hear what you're talking about. " she chided.
" Yes. I'm the one who said it. " he said.
Too late. Black drool dropped out of his mouth. Shit.
The girl looked at him with fear and mouthed " Zombie, " before raising her hands into the air.
He looked up and saw a bunch of ravens coming at him, their sharp beaks cutting into the air above him. He knew the girl had misunderstood him. But the ravens were ready to cut him into pieces. He narrowed his eyes.
The green-blue vision flashed through his eyes, then it was gone.
The ravens fell beside him, dead from cold. Their eyes wide open and beaks open with black drool dropping out of their mouths.
The girl stared at him with horror.
" You, " the girl started, " just killed my birds. Who are you? You are not a zombie. "
" No I'm not one of the infected. " he said.
" The sky just turned green-blue. "
" You noticed? "
She nodded.
" First of all, who are you? " he said.
" I'm Ruby. My grandmother was turned by a zombie in her house. I was finding for a cure to cure my grandmother. " the girl said.
" Ah. My deep condolences. " he said.
" Now: my turn. Who are you? " she asked.
" Not yet. Are your parents demigods? " he asked.
The girl gave him an impatient glare across the street. " Yes why? "
" Death and Beauty. Suits you, " he shrugged.
The girl eyes widen in shock, " Wait. You knew who were my parents? "
" Nothing of your concern. "
" It's my business. You are sneaking up on it. "
" That's my natural characteristic. "
Ruby shot a dark glare at him. He chuckled.
" I'm Alucard. " he introduced.
" Are you some sort of hybrid? " she asked. She was clutching her scythe with white knuckles.
" Yeah. I'm half zombie, half demigod. "
" Is there such thing as a half zombie? " her eyes widen with curiosity.
Oh boy, now I had to tell the whole story, he cursed himself.
" Yes. I got bitten when I was a child. But it didn't affect me, it just changed my hormones. That's it. "
" You mean, you had no - "
" I didn't meant that, you bitch. " he cursed at her, shot a look at her with pure hatred. She mockingly cowered. " Just the saliva color. "
" Wait, you said that you got bitten, but it's not affected by it? "
" Yeah, why you ask? " he looked at her suspiciously.
" I think, " the girl smiled at him, showing her white teeth, " that you're the cure that I need for my grandmother. "
" Nonsense. I'm nothing. " he said before walking away.
" You are! " the girl voice echoed through the empty street as he walked away, with those thoughts stuck in his head.
Then his mother words came to him.
Alucard, the clue is hidden inside you.
