Weiss calmly lifted her eyelids as her alarm started up.
She slowly got out of bed and tapped the button on her clock, stopping the sound that filled her apartment. She looked around, noticing that a fresh suit was hanging up by her door.
"Neptune, what have I said about getting my stuff ready while I sleep!!" Weiss shouted out the bedroom door.
"It's what I'm paid to do, Miss Schnee. It's what you pay me to do." He said from somewhere else in the apartment.
Weiss scowled. "I pay you to keep me on track, not to sneak into my house. What if I had a guest or something?"
"What, like you actually got with someone? You know that'll never happen." Neptune commented, walking in with a tray of food. "You work too much for a social life."
"I do not..." Weiss mumbled, then looked at the food. "I don't pay you to cook."
Neptune rolled his eyes. "My entire job description is too keep you on track and make sure you can work most efficiently, which I will say is not easy. You would've skipped breakfast if I didn't make something."
Weiss glared at him, then smiled softly. "What would I do without you?"
"Hopefully find a date so you don't need to be so dependent on someone like me." The blue haired guy said. "Alright, so you've got a meeting at noon with Ozcorp, and then that paperwork you wanted should be ready by the time that's over. Until then, why don't you just relax, alright?"
"No can do, I've still got papers for the Vacuo deal to work on and send in." Weiss said as she ate. "I'm going to be working late again tonight."
"Damn it, woman. Just take a break for once. I'm not even going to be around for today to keep you alive." Neptune sighed.
Weiss glared at the man. "I don't need you around to stay alive for one day. Where are you going anyways?" She asked.
"A friend of mine is forcing me to go on a date with her sister. Trying to get me a relationship or something." He responded.
The heiress of the company nodded "Well I hope it goes well. You deserve to be happy."
"First of all, I am happy. Second of all, you're the only single person in this room." Neptune said. "I'm just going on this date to get Yang off my back."
"Why not just tell your friend that you're taken?" Weiss asked.
Neptune coughed. "Look at the time, I've got to be going for my breakfast date." He quickly said, rushing out of the apartment.
Weiss sighed and finished her meal. She took her shower, got dressed in the white suit Neptune had set aside, then got moving towards her office. Opening up a drawer of her desk, she took out a stack of papers.
By the time she had made it through all the paperwork from the Vacuo deal, one of her assistants walked in, telling her that it was time for her meeting with the Ozcorp representatives.
Walking into the room she looked and saw that Mr Ozpin himself was sitting at the table. "Hello, Weiss."
"M-mr Ozpin! I wasn't expecting you to actually be here." She said, the shock evident in her voice.
The owner of Ozcorp smiled. "Please, just call me Oz, we've known each other for too long to be so formal. Last time I saw you, you were just managing a state branch. Now look at you, practically running the entire company."
Weiss shook her head. "No sir, my father runs the company, I just~"
"Do all the organization, and the papers, and the work. But it's still his company, so let's pretend that he actually does something with it." Oz said, his distaste being quite obvious.
"No sir, my father does quite a lot for the~"
"He didn't even come to the meeting with his biggest business partner. In fact, he's on a luxury jet going to some tropical paradise." Ozpin said, yet again cutting off Weiss. "You are the one that keeps the company in one piece, and you are really the only reason I work with Schnee Industries at all."
"Umm... I-I'm not sure what to say..." Weiss replied.
Oz smiled. "Then don't say anything about it. Instead we can get down to business. I'm sure you're very busy not running the company."
The meeting continued a little more as scheduled after that point, ending earlier than expected. Weiss tried to continue working, but what Oz said loomed in the back of her head.
Eventually she was forced to give up and simply said goodnight to everyone as she left, a sight that most had never seen as she was nearly the last person to leave the building on any given night. She walked down Beacon Street until she came across a little cafe that seemed like somewhere she could clear her head.
"The Cookies Cafe? Sounds fine for now..." She mumbled pushing the door open.
As she entered, the atmosphere seemed to be the exact opposite of the cold streets of Vale. It was warm and welcoming, almost like a forest cottage with its wooden floorboards. The walls were decorated by beautiful paintings and pictures of local people with the cafe waitresses and waiters. Weiss looked closer at one of the girls in a picture; a waitress with short brown hair, the tips dyed red.
"May I help you?" Someone asked from across the cafe.
Weiss turned and saw a ginger girl in a pink skirt with a white shirt and a little name tag that said Nora on it. "Um, yes, could I see a menu?"
"Well if course!" Nora chimed. "Sorry for not asking sooner, we just rarely get anyone so late at night."
"I understand that, I just needed somewhere to go after work. You could say that I've had a bit of a day." Weiss sighed.
Nora led her to a seat and pulled a menu seemingly out of nowhere. "We get people like that all the time, and luckily for you I know just the thing to do."
Weiss took a quick once over of the menu and handed it back. "Could I have a iced coffee with cream and a lime cake with a chocolate drizzle please?"
"Damn, you're fast. Sure, I'll have that ready in a jiffy." Nora said, taking the list of food and leaving.
Weiss took a seat and pulled her phone out of the white handbag she walked with. She sighed a little as she saw the familiar No New Messages on the screen.
"What's wrong?" A soft voice said, making Weiss' breath stop for just a moment.
