Confusion

Chapter 7

All day my classes were just going over the rules and expectations. None of my classes seems too bad except for one little thing. Harry was in every single one of them and I had to sit next to him in 3 out of 5 of them. Just can't wait for tomorrow.
I decided to go and see if my locker worked. I don't really know why we have lockers cuz our dorms are literally like right there but oh well.
I opened my locker and put some books in when I felt two hands cover my eyes.
"Guess who!?" I heard Brooke's voice behind me.
"Hmmm I don't know! Is it Santa!?"
"Ha! You wish"
"Ya I do actually" we both laughed and started to walk down the hall.
"So how were your classes?" She asks.
"Uhh they are pretty good I guess" I sounded unsure of myself.
"That doesn't sound like they were good" she looks at me with an amused expression.
"Well there is one thing." She looked at me waiting for me to continue. "Harry is in all of my classes."
She stopped dead in her tracks and then burst out into laughter.
"Oh my god. This is great!"
"No it's not! And I thought you said to stay away" I looked at her for an answer.
"You should. It's just funny how that worked out. And I thought you were in like all honor classes? How is Harry!"
I looked at her confused " I don't know, maybe he is a secret genius"
She laughed so hard that she started to cry. "Ya ok. That's possible. He probably like payed his way in"
"What do you mean?"
"Harry is loaded! His dad is like a millionaire! He doesn't really talk to his dad but he still sends him checks."
For some reason I ignored what she said because I don't really care about money but I found myself wondering why he doesn't talk to his dad.
"Why doesn't he talk to his dad?"
"I don't really know he never talks about it and I wouldn't bring it up, it kind of hits a nerve. But I am gonna get coffee. Wanna come?"
"Nah I'm good. I need to get organized and call Brent" she looked at me excitedly when I said that.
"You have a boyfriend! How cute!"
"Yes I do" I laughed
"Does he have a cute friend?" She winked at me.
"Go get your coffee" I smiled
She went off to the coffee shop and I went back to the room. I threw my stuff down and changed into sweatpants. I took out my phone and dialed Brent's number.
"Hey!" He answered enthusiastically. "Why haven't you called?"
"Sorry I was so busy. Today was my first day of classes."
"How did they go?"
"They were okay. Just like any other school day" I kinda laughed
"Well I'm sure it will be more fun than here. But I do miss you"
"I miss you t..." I was interrupted by the door opening. I looked up expecting to see Brooke but instead I saw Harry. He looked at me.
"Hey Maddie!"
I looked at him confused and heard Brent talking on the phone. "Who's there? He asked.
That's when Harry took a change to get me mad. He yelled "her secret boyfriend!!"
I scolded at him and said into the phone " He is kidding. Harry is just uh a...friend?"
"Don't go cheating on me now" he said humorously and I was so happy he wasn't mad.
"I never would! But I should go start my organizing"
"Okay. I will call you tomorrow. Love you"
"Love you too" and I hung up.
I picked up a pillow and through it at Harry. He raised his hands in defense.
"What he should know of our underlying love for each other." He said sarcastically.
I just shook my head. "You know, you could have knocked, what if I was getting dressed."
"I wouldn't mind" he said with a hungry look in his eyes.
"Okay Harry. Now you are getting creepy."
He chuckled and it was the sweetest sound I have ever heard. "I'm just kidding. Calm down and so I'm your friend huh?"
I laughed and he sat next to me on the bed. " I don't know Harry." I smiled. "So why are you here anyway?" I asked a little more cruel than intended.
"What you don't want me here." He said with mock hurt, putting his hand on his heart. He laughed "I just came to annoy you"
"Well it's working" I tried to sound serious but I couldn't help the smile on my face. What was wrong with me? Why was I so giddy?
Harry picked up my backpack and decided to throw everything all around my room.
"Why must you be so obnoxious!" I said sounding very frustrated.
"I'm just teasing" he smiled and picked my stuff up.
He really wasn't that bad. I don't know why I was so upset earlier and why Brooke kept warning me about him. Right now he seemed...sweet.
Ha handed me my bag. " oh thanks" I laughed.
"No problem" he smiled and his gorgeous dimples shined through. Then he grabbed my journal from my lap and ran to the other side of the room like a little kid.
"Stop! Give it back!" I yelled and ran after him. He held it above him and I couldn't reach it.
"Say the magic word" what is he talking about.
"What?" I laughed.
"Say the magic word" he repeated.
"Please?" I said.
"Actually it was Harry is sexy. But I will give it to you anyway." He handed it to me.
"That's three word not one. smart one" I giggled.
"Your laugh is cute" I don't think he meant to say that out loud but he did.
I blushed and looked down. He lifted my chin up and looked at me. He brought his face inches from mine. He smelled so good and in that second I didn't want to move. It's like my world revolved around Harry and it was just us two. I have only known him for not even two days but when I was with him I felt more relaxed and playful.
He moved even closer and his chest pushed me against the wall. Our lips barely brushed and he looked into my eyes. His eyes are such a beautiful green and I got lost in them.
Our breathing got heavier as we were against the wall with our faces not even an inch away from each other. He brought his hands to my hips and wrapped them around my waist. Then he crashed his lips to mine. The kiss was slow at first then sped up. It was gentle but full of passion and hunger.
The kiss was cut short when we heard someone open the door. He pulled away and stepped away from me. Brooke walked in and looked at us. "Um did I interrupt something?" She looked amused.
Harry looked at me like he was begging me not to tell her so I nodded. "Nothing um I was just uh. Leaving. Bye Maddie." He walked past Brooke and nodded goodbye to her.
"Holy shit. What did I just miss!"
"Uh nothing! He just had a question about the schedule." I said shakily.
"Ya ok I'm not that stupid. You guys totally just hooked up!" I blushed.
"It's okay, he is attractive." She laughed.
"I thought you said to stay away?"
"Harry just isn't really the boy you should date. He doesn't really keep relationships going. He usually dates girls until they, ya know give themselves to him. Then he dumps them like they are nothing."
"Oh." I said kind of regretting what just happened.
"But it's ok. He hasn't done it in a while. He really hasn't even liked anyone for a long time. Maybe he changed." She said to comfort me.
It wasn't really that that bothered me though. It was the fact that I just told my boyfriend I would never cheat on him and I broke that promise in less than 60 seconds.
