Chapter 1

Umbreon woke up to a silence in the big area covered by bushes which they used as the sleeping area, Umbreon silently counted the sleeping pokémon in the area "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and myself 8" he whispered and got up. Umbreon always felt more alive at night and alone rather than a day with the loud pokémon doing their own things. He looked up and noticed the moon was covered by clouds no not clouds thick smoke. Vaporeon and other water type pokemon fought of a huge fire not many days prior to tonight. Umbreon ducked down as he noticed something else pacing around luckily it wasn't the leader or another eeveelution it was a younger Eevee the youngest his red eyes pierced at her light eyes
"Who's there" She called nervously
"First don't seem scared others love that. Second use your nose. Third, why are you up" Umbreon said laughing. Eevee relaxed at the sight of Umbreon.
"Sorry I'll do better. Yes, I shouldn't be awake but everyone in the area is still talking. I could ask the same for you" She responded smiling
"I like night and need little sleep," He said half lying half not.
"Well see ya Umbreon try and get more sleep" Eevee walked away. Umbreon could feel the tiredness grasp on to him but he forced himself to stay awake.

Sunrise hit the forest as Umbreon lay in his nest although he had gotten no more sleep. Sylveon blinked her eyes open and turned towards Umbreon.
"Hey Umbreon, how long have you been awake?" She asked
"Only a few minutes" he replied
"Did you have a good sleep?" She asked
"No not really I'm not excited for today," he said honestly
"Hmm during our meeting thing who do you think you'll be paired up with? Oh btw I'm not excited either" She giggled
"Someone that is much much worse than you and your not bad," he said cracking a smile
"Aww thanks, Umbreon--" Sylveon said before getting interrupted
"Come on Sylveon lets go Leader Eevee will call us any minute" Flareon called. They left the area Umbreon's ears lay flat on his head
"Eeveelutions please gather near" Eevee called as he stood up on a tall branch. The group of eight members walked out towards the leader.
"As most of you recall today is the day we begin to find our 'soulmates', so Umbreon and Leafeon. Jolteon and Sylveon. Flareon and Espeon. Vaporeon and Glaceon. Good luck"
Umbreon pushed his way to Leafeon.
"Ugh I got the antisocial one, I already say no. So go do your own thing, that shouldn't be hard"
"Ok I guess," he said as she walked away "Screw you" he mumbled
