Chapter 3

Umbreon began trotting back the sleeping area before being stopped by Eevee.
"You're out late," she said dryly
"Well you know me the night owl" Umbreon lied
"Have much sleep have you been getting for the last three days?" she said worriedly
"Lots" Umbreon lied again
"Don't lie," Eevee said sternly
"Fine about up to ten minutes a night" Umbreon lied more
"Now you and I both know that's not true"
"Well not much okay barely any," he said passive aggressively
"Why," She said aggressively
"I don't know maybe no one will pick me and I'll be free from this lifestyle,"Umbreon said quieter
"Where were you just now?" Eevee asked
"I was outside," he said dully. Eevee grumbled "Sorry I accidentally wandered into the Pikachu colony. But they were more then friendly"Umbreon said confidently
"Umbreon I knew you were different but rules are rules. Well good thing you're with Sylveon tomorrow" Eevee said "Now go to bed"
"Yes," he hissed.

Umbreon staggered into the area and flopped down his eyes wide open, still awake he wondered why the colony of Pikachus weren't strict, he knew just by common sense that ever colony worked differently but it seemed off

Umbreon shook off the night with little keeping him awake he heard Sylveon yawn.
"Mornin Umbreon," she said happily
"Morning Sylveon" Umbreon returned trying to sound happy yet he seemed to fail, so he left the area.
"Alright, today is your last day to find your "perfect match" choose wisely". Umbreon looked around he knew Sylveon was the last female he chose to see but with Leafeon nowhere to be seen he got hopeful. Cut away from his thoughts he heard a small Eevee yelling for help. He raced past everyone to see a group of Pokemon including the youngest Eevee who ran up to him
"Leafeon--" She exclaimed out of breath.
"Sshh, calm down it's going to be okay"Umbreon tried to say
"FIRE EEVEE COLONY EVACUATE" Eevee called he looked to see his leader in panic. He kept all the younger pokemon in front of him until a blaze ripped in front of him. He pushed the youngest Eevee away from the flames, his eyes darted around as he saw a huge branch coming down at the fear paralyzed Sylveon
"Sylveon runs now" he yelled CRASH. Running to her side he watched her. He used every bit of strength in him to lift the branch, Sylveon ran towards the group as his vision got blurrier and blurrier. All his bone in his body yelled to collapse but he knew it wouldn't be safe. He faintly heard the young Eevee calling for him.
"I'm coming keep going Eevee" Umbreon staggered around even though he knew she was one of the only Eevees that cared for him he couldn't do it.
"Oh Eevee I loved you like the mate I'll never have"He whispered before the darkness crashed around him
