It all started in the third grade. She got up and went to school as usual . But what she didn't realize was that the girl she thought was her best friend, Amy would say 3 words that would send her world into a downward spiral. When she got off the school bus she went to class and sat down with her leg out to side as she always did. Sadly that day Amy wasn't paying attention to what she was doing and tripped right over her foot. When Amy got up she looked right into her eyes said those three faithful words... Go kill yourself. The next day was worse. No one looked at her or even breathed her name. This was a day she would remember for the rest of her life, the day her best friend became her worst nightmare. She sat alone at lunch and sat on the swing alone at recess. This was the first taste of loneliness she would ever feel, but it was definitely not the last. The school year went by and summer was finally here. She thought she would be free of the hurt that her friends had made her feel and by the start of the 4th grade everything would be better. She was far from safe. She was like Centralia and everyone else was the fire, no matter how hard she tried it would never go away. On the last day of school she came home to her parents fighting over money but when they saw her walk through the door everything stopped and the house was quite. She ran to the kitchen to grab her favorite snack, a fudge pop, and then sprinted to the backyard. But even though she was over 50 feet away from her parents with three 4 inch walls in between she could still hear her mom yell that she wanted a divorce, then the door slammed shut and everything fell silent.
