War
I walk on the battlefield
Unarmed but for my tongue.
The opponent enters too.
And now I an scared
For I have no armor.
No battle shield.
No sword for the fight.
The first word spoken
Hits like a nuclear bomb
The damage of which cannot be undone for millions of years.
I counterattack.
And my opponent falls.
The pain caused by one flip of the tongue
Is enough to kill a man.
The deed is done
And I walk off the field.
A hollow victory I have won,
The aftermath of which I cannot endure.
