The following is a true story
I have heard people being disscribed as having a bubbly personality. I never known anyone like that until I meet Jennifer. She always a happy go lucky type of person. She was giggling or telling jokes. She never seam to meet anyone who she didn't like.
She and I became fast friends. She walks up to me and without even knowing my name she started up a conversation. We both liked cooking and the same music. Even though she was younger than myself we still had the same test in music We both loved being mothers. Both of us had two children, one boy and one girl.
The only thing we did not have in common was our marriage. Jennifer had two bad marriages. She was blessed with two beautiful children. One from each marriage. The men she chose where not bad in the beginning. They both presented themselves as good men. Jennifer was smart enough to see the singles, and got out before anything bad happen.
But.....
Her second husband was hiding a much darker personality. One that nobody else knew about. Not even his own family.
Not even Jennifer.
This is what happened.
Jennifer shared joint custody of her three year old with her ex. Her baby boy would go to his father's on every other weekend. Everything was going fine until. This one weekend Jennifer's ex felt that he no longer wanted to pay child support. He keep call her and telling her that he would keep her baby and she would never be able to see him again.
Needless to say she was beside herself with worry. Jennifer tried to get the police involved. They told her that until his time with the child was up their hands where tied. They did nothing to help her.
On Sunday she was to meet her ex in town to pick the baby up. Her ex refused to show up. He keep giving Jennifer one excuse after another as to why he could not bring the baby at the regular time.
The later it got on Sunday the more heated the phone calls got between Jennifer and her ex. Jennifer tried everything she knew of to convince him to give her back her son. Nothing worked.
Around 11pm he finally gave in, or so Jennifer thought. They were to meet at small out of the way store. There was very little light, or houses around this story. He told her that he would have the baby. It would have been the only way she meet this man in such a place.
....
When she got to the spot he did not have their baby with him.
He did have his girlfriend. A woman Jennifer did not like. This should be a red flag.
They had a yelling match over the baby not being there. With nobody around Jennifer could call out to anyone.
This is when things went down hill. He pulled a gun.....
He then shot my friend. It is still unclear if the gun shot killed her.
But that's not all...
He took a log chain from the back of his car. He took the chain wrapped it around her legs.
His girlfriend got into his car. She just stood by and watched him shot her. While he hooked the chain to the back of Jennifer's car. She did nothing.
He then got behind the wheel.......of Jennifer's car....he began to drag Jennifer.....my friend.
For six miles....
With his girlfriend following him...
For six miles he drove with her behine her own car....
His girlfriend closely drove behind him. Incase someone showed up behine them....so Jennifer could not be seen by another car.
Six miles he drove.....in the same area that Jennifer's mother lived in...
He even turned around and drove back to the store where he shot her. Useing the same route.
A sheriff was doing a nightly check of the store, and spotted him driving on the wrong side of the road....
The officer did not know about Jennifer until he got out and walked up to the car.
Jennifer's killer told the officer.
"I got that bitch tied to the car."
....
The days and weeks following that were hardest. The trail of blood on the road lasted for months.
The family finally had to request the county road crew to clean the trail of blood. So they would not have to see where Jennifer died every time they had to leave the house.
I can not explain how horrified I felt when I had to use that road to go be with the family. My husband was driving us to Jennifer's mother house. I could not leave my feet on the floor board of the truck. My husband had to drive in the center of the road to get me to calm down.
The thing that hurts the most for me is....her baby boy.......the person she gave her life for.....is now in the custody of her killer parents.
Jennifer loved her children so much. She would have done anything to protect them. She knew he was a bad man. She did everything in her power to keep him far from hurting the baby.
The courts odered the visitations.
The courts moved her ex to another prison to protect his rights to a fair trial.
I would like to know who was supposed to protect Jennifer's rights to live.
She only wanted her baby back.
.
.
.
If there was one thing that I liked the most about Jennifer was she would help anyone who needed her. She was a kind person who would bend over backwards to help someone in need.
She would be the first person to tell me to repeat her story. If it ment that someone would seek help to get out of a bad relationship.
This happen a few year ago.
I have told this story the best I could remember...
Take care of you...
Love you more...
