mila and i spent the rest of the afternoon just talking outside before i walked her home . when i got back home , my parents were there and i lied and said i went out for a jog . the rest of the night , i opened my window and just watched the snow fall . i stayed up pretty early to read to kill a mockingbird but eventually my mind drifted off and i fell asleep smiling .

i woke up late the next morning , around 11:00 and when i saw the clock i ran out of my room and downstairs to see mila and my parents having a friendly conversation . my eyes widened and i tilted my head .

"what is going on .." i said , my voice raspy from sleep . 

"school's been canceled ," mila said . "it seems someone stole all of the chains for the bus tires and the roads are filled with black ice . look outside ." i walked over to one of the windows and saw snow everywhere . it was , like last night , a winter wonderland outside . the windows were frosted on all of the other houses and the trees were drooping because of all of the snow . 

"your friend mila was just telling us about how you and some other school friends are having a get toghether ," my mom said . i was waiting for her to tell me i had to stay home and do homework . she lifted up a duffel bag and placed it on the counter . "your aunt's cabin will be vacant so you and your friends can stay there . please pack layers ." uhm , was i really talking to my mom or did some alien taken control of her body ?? never in a million years would she allow something like this . 

"adonis and the rest of the group will be here soon , i suggest you get     packing ," mila said and tossed me the duffel bag . i took it and walked back upstairs . what the hell was happening ??  i decided to go with it and packed my duffel bag and backpack with clothes and necessary items and put on an outfit consisting of a white cableknit sweater , a gray buttoned trench coat , black jeans and my timberlands . i came back downstairs and mila lead me out the door to see adonis' black jeep in the driveway . i put my duffel bag and backpack in the back and got in the shotgun .

"gale no offense but you look like a northern playboy ," avalon said , looking up from her phone .

"im not exactly used to the cold like you guys so yeah ," i said , taking off my scarf . we were pretty much the only vehicle on the highway so adonis went full speed the entire way . it was scary at first , but he knew his way around icy roads . we blasted music the entire way there , it was one of the most fun car rides i've had in a while .

we reached the foot of the mountain and entered the gates , beginning our drive up the mountain . 

"when you get to the top , use the garage on the right . it's under the house ," i said to adonis . he nodded . i pulled the garage opener out of my pocket and clicked the 'open' button and he drove in and parked . i closed the garage    door , a giant gust of air coming through right before it finally closed , sending chills down my back . we all grabbed our luggage and walked inside . i set my stuff down on the couch and turned on a couple lights and checked the fridge and pantry to make sure food was there . "we're all set , friendos ."

"ok what ," mila said as she stepped inside . "why - how - what"

"let's just say my aunts extremely good at spending her money ."

"nice place , sir gale ," adonis said , making his way upstairs . i walked over to the other side of the living room and pressed a button which lifted up the blinds that lay over the three large windows . from looking out the windows , you could see the view for miles . mila walked up beside me .

"woah ," she said , mouth agape . "what are we even gonna do here ." i shrugged .

"go adventuring , have a big bonfire . take a couple vehicles out for a spin . take part in some illegal activities . depends on how many days school's out ," i said, crossing my arms . 

"SO . MUCH . SPACE ." i turned around to see avery standing in the doorway , mouth wide open .

"close your mouth before you catch a fly , avery ," avalon said as she stepped inside and took a video of the place for her vlog . "we've arrived at playboy gale's bachelor pad on mcclellan peak . looks like he's in love with the snow , looks like i'll be vlogging him and snow's wedding ." she walked past me and upstairs , still talking in her vlog . 

after we all got settled in our rooms , i made a fire in the fireplace and we sat around it and played truth or dare . 

"corey , t or d ," avalon said .

"truth ."

"who has given you the best kiss," avalon said with a smirk .

corey glanced over to adonis but then quickly said , "nocomment ." we all burst out laughing and when the laughter died down , it was corey's turn . "gale , truth or dare ."

"uhhhmmm .. dare , i guess ," i said afraid of what cruelty she was about to force me to do . 

"i dare you to do the cinnamon challenge ." my eyes widened as i looked at corey , a smile plastered on her face . i rolled my eyes , stood up , walked over to the kitchen and got a spoonful of cinnamon . i went back and sat down and they counted down from five . 

"5 , 4 , 3 , 2 , 1 ," they all said in unison . at one , i slowly put the spoon into my mouth but i guess my body thought it was a good idea to take a deep breath . my lungs were immediately filled with cinnamon . it hurt like hell . i coughed , trying to get it out but sending a giant cloud of cinnamon up in the air . i fell over , half laughing , half chokin on my own saliva and everyone else laughed their asses off . my heart started pounding in my chest , but it was funny how much of a dumbass i was . 

when my breathing calmed down , we decided to go ice fishing . the girls didn't like fish but they decided to come along and make a snowman to cheer us on . i put on my scarf and adonis , avery and i grabbed fishing poles and headed down a path in the woods to a nearby pond , which was completely frozen over . the three of us chose three different places to make holes in the pond .

adonis was the first one to catch a fish , he caught a medium sized large mouth bass . avery kept on catching tiny catfish , it was kinda funny . it took me a while to catch something , but it was worthwhile . a powerful fish bit the bait and i had to fight it for a couple minutes before finally pulling it up . avalon came sliding across the pond and pointed her vlog camera at it while i held it in my hand .

"looks like playboy gale has pulled in dinner !" she exclaimed .

"they're not really tasty but okay ," i chuckled . 

"wOAH A FISH . can i kiss it ?" mila said , inspecting its body .

"quickly , if i hold it up for much longer it's gonna die ," i said .

"weLL IF ITS GONNA DIE PUT IT BACK YOU IDIOT ," mila yelled . 

"ok ok ," i said and plopped it back into the water . adonis caught and fish and everyone was drawn to him now . i looked at the fish , it was even bigger than mine . i took a picture of him holding it and inspected the fish closer . "damn  , nice catch ." he nodded and placed it back into the water . avery looked over at his success and got pissed and slammed his foot on the ice . the ice slowly cracked around him , he didn't seem to notice . "avERY RUN ," i said , trying to warn him , but it was too late . the two cracks met and the ice beneath him fell and so did he . i sprinted over to him and grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the water . he shivered violently and i took off my trench coat and gave it to him . 

we then went back to the cabin and made sure avery was okay and not dying . the rest of the night was spent watching movies and making bowls and bowls of popcorn . day one of playboy gale's bachelor pad was a success .
