Cordelia is a fan girl with a passion for hair and a hunger for success. She's content with her life until Lil Yachty himself flips her whole world upside down.
"So we leave for Cancun Thursday," I say, showing him the plans on my laptop. "I already talked to your manager so I know you're free."
"Okay."
"Miles, why did you ask me about my ring size?" I say, not letting it get off my mind.
"I was just curious Cordelia," he says, looking the other way.
"Baby-"
"Okay damn Cordelia, let it go."
"Okay I was just gonna say I'm starting to think my ring size is a five," I smirk.
"Damn it," he mumbles under his breath.
"Why are you mumbling, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, it's nothing," he says.
"Wait, it's a six surely a six. I remember."
"Damn it C, what is it? Is it a five or a six?"
I stared at him after his little outburst for a little bit. I probably had a spongebob sized grin on but I didn't care.
"Fuck, you know don't you?"
I nodded. "You aren't that slick."
(YALL THOUGHT SHE WAS DUMB LMAOO)
"Fuck," he sighed.
"It's okay," I hugged him. "I love you."
"I wanted it to be special C. Now you know, it's not a surprise."
"It is special," I say, not letting him go. A few tears escaped from my eyes and onto his shirt.
"How did you figure it out man?"
"Okay, you went to the bathroom and someone called so I just answered it and it was your jeweler," I mumbled.
"Jeez. I fucked a once in a lifetime occasion," he sighed.
"Don't be upset please. I'm happy, be happy too."
"Wait so it's a yes?"
"Hell yeah! Of course it's a yes!"
Now I was really crying, but a bitch was happy as can be. I been waiting on this day and I used to not think it was ever gonna come.
"So do you want me to just give it to you know or should I ask you in another way?"
"I mean if you already have something else planned already you can keep it but if you don't you can just give it to me now," I giggle.
"I been trying to think of some extravagant way to ask for like 3 months and I never thought of anything good enough."
"Anything is good enough Baby. You can just do it."
"Okay hold up," Miles got up and went into his closet and grabbed his phone up off his charger. He sat his phone up and started recording. "Okay come here."
I stood up and he got down onto one knee, making me cry again.
"Okay, I had a whole speech but you kinda threw me off. You know I love you more than anything ever. Everything about you is beautiful C, everything. This isn't how I thought I was gonna propose to you but nothing about our relationship goes as planned. With that being said, will you marry me?"
I hugged him so hard I kinda tackled him onto the floor.
"Yesssssssss!"
"Okay okay, Baby let me put the ring on you."

"This is so beautiful," I cry, placing my other hand over my mouth as he slipped the ring on my finger. "I can't believe this."
"It's for holding me down. It's for believing in me. "It's for not going easy on me and helping me become a better man."
"I'm so happy!"
He just laughed as I exploded.
"I gotta tell my mom! I gotta tell your mom!"

I was still buzzing the next day from the proposal but I had clients to take care of before we went off on vacation.
I walked in the shop straight up to Ms. Shannon and held my hand up.
"Oh my lord!" She yelled grabbing my hand. All the girls in the shop gathered around as we celebrated.
Eventually we had to settle down and start doing hair like we were supposed to be doing.
"So I see that ring," my client says as I wash her hair.
"Girl, boat proposed yesterday. I knew it was coming so he just did it."
"Girl, I wish Marcus would come on I been with him damn near five years. How y'all youngins getting married before us?"
"Lol girl, I feel you. My mama said she's happy but she's concerned since I'm young but I think it's okay. We just wanna be married for the time being, kids and stuff can come way later. We have the time."
"Yeah girl, well maybe I should have Yachy talk to Marcus for me then."
