Chapter 7

Jack's POV

(Y/n) hugged me again, and I hugged her back. This was so scary for me because I could have just lost her, but even worse for her because she almost died.

I felt her shaking in my arms. (Y/n) was so scared. "It's right. You're okay." I whispered to her.

Everyone else just stared at us. Ken knew what was up, but no one else had a clue that we were boyfriend and girlfriend now.

(Y/n) let go of me and stopped shaking. She seemed okay now.

"What are we gonna do about the basketball hoop?" Mark asked Michael, breaking the silence.

"It was old, so I can get a new one. Can you give me a hand getting it out of the pool?" Michael replied.

"Sure." Mark and Michael lifted the hoop out of the water and threw it onto the grass.

None of us were really sure what to do. We just kind of stayed where we were for a few minutes.

I guess Ken decided to change this by picking up Felix and throwing him. Felix made a splash when he hit the water.

He came back up and playfully punched Ken's shoulder.

"So now we're throwing people?" (Y/n) asked.

"Yep." I replied, picking her up and throwing her into the pool.

She came back up and spat out some pool water. "Seriously Jack?"

"Seriously."

"My turn!" Mark yelled, throwing Michael. We all laughed.

Unexpectedly, Felix threw me. Then Mark threw Ken. (Y/n) got onto Michael's shoulders and said "Chicken fight!"

I got onto Felix's shoulders and Mark got on Ken's. We each grabbed a pool noodle and smacked each other.

(Y/n) and I hit Mark at the same time knocking him off Ken's shoulders. We laughed at them both and Felix and Michael joined the laughter.

Out of the blue, some other guy did a cannonball into the pool, followed by a girl. They looked quite similar to one another.

"Really Max? And Hailey?" (Y/n) said.

"Really (Y/n)? Chicken fights?" the guy asked her.

"Guys, these are my cousins Max and his little sister Hailey. Hailey, Max, this is Jack, Mark, Felix and Ken." (Y/n) introduced.

"And who's this guy?" Max asked, pointing to Michael.

(Y/n), Max, Hailey and Michael laughed. They obviously knew each other.

"Did you finally get a boyfriend, (Y/n)?" Hailey asked.

"Um, yeah...?" (Y/n) replied.

"Wait, what?" Mark said.

"Who?" Felix asked.

"When did that happen?" Michael asked.

"For the love of God, people! You didn't see what I saw last night did you? No, you didn't. Jack and (Y/n) Are an item now. Jeez." Ken spilled.

"What?!?" Felix, Mark, and Michael said in unison. We've known Michael for almost 2 years, so he knew (Y/n) and I were best friends.

"Ken!" (Y/n) and I yelled at once.

"What?!? We're they not supposed to know? Cause, I mean, Jack has always had a crush on you, (Y/n). It's not like it wasn't going to happen." Ken said.

I felt my face heating up. This is not the outcome I had expected.

I was sitting in top of Felix's shoulders, (Y/n) on Michael's, Mark swimming next to us, Max and Hailey by the edge of the pool and Ken telling everyone that (Y/n) and I were dating, then that I've had a crush on her since our first collab.

This day has gone to shit.
