Chapter 24 - Why Are You Here?

"I know it's been a while, (Y/n). But I just wanted to say that I'm sorry." Dan said.

Daniel Howell. My ex boyfriend. He and I met at Vid Con and hit it off immediately. Within a few months of talking -over the internet because I lived in LA at the time- we eventually started dating.

He dumped me because I had been talking a lot more with Jack and thought I was cheating on him. We never talked again after that until now.

"Dan, if you were sorry, you would have listened to me. But I moved on. I was with Jack for a year and a half. Then he proposed and I said yes. But after a few months, I caught him cheating on me with some girl named Amanda. Then I moved back here to get away from everything." I explained.

"So you are single again?" Dan asked.

"We're not getting back together if that's what you're thinking." I replied.

"I'm sorry for accusing you of cheating. I really am and I know I was wrong. Please forgive me. Can we at least be friends again?" Dan asked.

"I suppose. But no more stalking me and breaking into my house. Deal?"

"Deal." Dan walked away and got into the taxi that had been waiting for him.

"What the hell was that about?" Ethan asked.

"Dan was my boyfriend before Jack and when Jack and I met, we talked a lot. Dan accused me of cheating on him with Jack, so we broke up. Then a year later, Ken, Felix, Mark, Jack and I spent a week in Florida and Jack and I started dating. Then my life went to shit." I said, becoming sad at the end.

"Don't worry about Jack anymore." Ethan said.

I shook the thought of Jack out of my head and looked back at Ethan. "You're right. I shouldn't keep my head in the past."

"Hey, Mark, Amy and I are going to the theater at 7 and I was wondering if you'd want to come with us." Ethan said.

"Yeah sure. What movie are we watching?" I asked.

"You'll have to wait and see. But I can guarantee that you'll love it." Ethan hinted.

"Boy, do I feel appreciated." I joked.

"You're funny. See you at 7?" Ethan asked.

"See you at 7." I repeated.

I walked back into my house and closed the door. I leaned on it. What a crazy day today has been.

First, Dan breaks in to ask for forgiveness, I thought about Jack for the first time in 3 weeks, and then Ethan asks me out? Wow, my life has changed.
