An Announcement From the Gamemakers

The Capitol is locked with anticipation today. Early this morning the Gamemakers announced that the team behind the planning and organising of our fabulous Games was going to expand. An official ceremony was declared for later in the day. Crowds have been gathering since mid-morning. It is now mid-afternoon and the floor of the Capitol's main square is no longer visible under the rush of people, all colours of the rainbow. The announcement is expected at any moment. We here at The Odds have managed to grab a space right in the heart of the action. I am Nox Lingualaca reporting to you live from Capitol Square. And the big news of the day is, of course, there is to be a new face on the Gamemaking team. And as always, you're going to hear it here first!

From our prime position I can report that Alithia and Pandora have emerged. The fashion conscious among us - and who isn't fashion conscious here in the Capitol! - will be interested to know that Alithia is of course wearing a charcoal grey suit. An iconic Warwell trademark and an undeniable fashion inspiration to the practical amongst us! Pandora has opted for a dress of golden and very intricate chain-mail. From her eye falls a painted on metallic tear drop. Expect to see the Capitol's clothes bathed in sheens of metallic colours by this time tomorrow. A full fashion round-up of today's events will be broadcast later as we here at The Odds turn out attention to Alithia who is standing up to the speech podium and who stares out at the crowd, commanding silence with a simple gesture.

"We gather here today to celebrate a new era of Games." Ms. Warwell wastes no time in proceeding with events. As can be expected nothing about her expression particularly indicates celebration. Her features remain that unreadable stone that we have come to respect and dare I say love her for! Pandora's expression, however, tells an entirely different story. Her smirk gathers prominently in the corners of her cheek, hinting that we are in for a surprise. With an audible tinkling from her metal dress she steps forward to share the podium with the President.

"In just a few short moments we will introduce the changes to out current Gamemaking team. However, neither Alithia or I are in the habit of following expectation. After all, why keep the twists and turns confined to the Games? It would be a waste of talent!"

Laughter suddenly fills the main square, ringing out from the centre of the crowd and trickling out towards the back. I can't help laughing along! But an air of reservation to the chuckles is a clear indicator that no one here is naive enough to ignore the edge that Pandora's effervescence can disguise. She may be all smiles and smirks in appearances, but underneath we know she shares Alithia's hard-lined glares. President Warwell is on form today and is making no pretences with the severity in which she gazes down into the crowd. Pandora steps back once more and allows Alithia to take the centre position behind the speech podium.

"Without further ado, I Alithia Warwell and my colleague Pandora Kleio would like to formally and officially send our congratulations to our two new Gamemakers Kalea Farris and Elpis Regnum."

It is a struggle to hear myself think over the thunderous clamours of the crowd here in Capitol Square. But amongst this chaos I can confirm that TWO new Gamemakers will be joining the team behind the Games. I repeat: TWO new Gamemakers. The Capitol is in a state of shock. This is entirely unprecedented. It is almost unbelievable... I can now report that there are two figures emerging.

The first of our new Gamemakers, who I am led to believe is Kalea Farris [Oh_Nostalgia], is smiling as she steps out into full view. And what an angel she seems! This is a genuine smile we are witnessing, ladies and gentlemen. She seems such a darling! She makes a bold statement with curly, bubble-gum pink hair and sporting a somewhat unusual fashion choice of polka-dots despite their going out of style two seasons ago. Perhaps she hopes to stage some sort of comeback? And how did she get those diamond implanted so near to her eyes?

The second of the new Gamemakers has now emerged. Presumably this is the famed Elpis Regnum [GhostOfGamesPast]. In direct contrast to Kalea he sports a rather serious expression - something President Warwell must approve of! His eyes give him away, however. There is definitely a trace of mischief to them which is something more characteristic of Ms. Kleio! He has his hair elegantly and neatly tied back into a ponytail, and what a marvellous shade of red it is! I imagine that shade will grace many ponytails for the rest of this season, don't you?

All four Gamemakers stand together before the crowd and are now joining hands in a display of unity rarely seen among the higher authorities. This is quite astonishing. We are in the presence of a new era indueed! And the lucky readers of The Odds are in luck as I have just been informed that we here at The Odds have been given the honour of the first interview with the newly formed Author Games team. We will be joining you again shortly to present you with full coverage of this exculsive interview!
