The Doctor took a deep, calming breath. Then, with a snip of his fingers, he opened the door and left the Tardis, hurrying in a direction that was completely random. He had already walked a good twenty feet when he remembered to snip his fingers again and close the door. Spontaneously, a thought came to him, and he remembered that he was not far away from the restaurant where he had once taken a Slitheen disguised as Margaret Blaine out for dinner. And without quite knowing why, he suddenly found himself heading for that spot in a hurry.
It was a rather busy café far from the centre of Cardiff, and the Doctor didn't hesitate for long when he saw a free table at the window. He buried his nose in the menu, though he actually merely did that to avoid any waiters. Naturally, he got quite unnerved when a young ladies' voice interrupted his thoughts. 'Ready to order, sir?' 'No, thank you', the Doctor replied sharply, thinking that that would scare the young waitress off. 'Anything to drink, sir?' The Doctor rolled his eyes. 'No, I'm fine, now why don't you go mind other people's businesses?', he almost growled. He heard the waitress chuckle. 'Well, sir, may I compliment your table choice? Right next to the window, where the light cannot fade."
